First, I have 2 of these now. The one I just ordered has the rubber feet and the other one has the steel feet. These are low bi-pods. The finish is high quality and I have not noticed any wearing except where the legs fold up but of course that is metal on metal. For the most part it does not scratch easily. The aluminum used appears to have a hardened finish on it. These are made to be set up quickly and be light on the gun. They attach either by way of the weaver rail or it comes with a bi-pod adapter with sling mount.I have no problem with using a regular 30 round mag with it. These types of bi-pods are generally not used laying in the prone. Generally they would be used in a window sill, on a ledge of some kind, the top of a wall, from a car hood to name a few . However even in a prone position there is no problem with the mag hitting against the ground(when you use proper shooting form). What I like about these is they can be set up on the fly. They can be set up quietly. There are no noisy springs. The legs lock in solid. The height is adjustable from 175 mm to 185 mm. By way of a locking knurled collar. The legs are spring activated so they pop out when the collar is loosened. When not in use they fold forward out of the way. but can quickly be deployed one handed. It is compact enough, most of the time I leave the legs deployed. If you are looking for a compact bi-pod that has all of the features of the big boys. This is the one for you.

Bolt in the mount is slightly bigger in diameter than slots and does not allow to properly attach this bipod on the rail. As result of that you need to re attach it after couple of rounds.
The whole construction is lacking quality and it’s not durable unit.
Legs are wobbly and unit does not provide adequate support in aiming.
I uploaded my images for review; you can review significant gaps between rail and bipod.

I have this bi-pod on three of my rifles. Two are AR platform and one is a Mosin with the Archangel. I use it for target shooting, prone out in the fields from 100-600 yards. There is a bout a 1/32" of wobble in the folding joints, not a big deal, but for precision shots I do have to apply some slight forward pressure. I like these bi-pods because they are short and make prone shooting more comfortable than the longer ones. I do have higher end bi-pods (Vanguard Equalizer Pro 2 and a Caldwell 6-9), I can't stand them, although of high quality materials, the Vanguard is way too tall(see pic below, literally have to climb on top of the rifle to keep the muzzle flip in check) and makes for very uncomfortable position and the Caldwell pivots too easily for target shooting. I am sure they are both great for their intended purposes as hunting bipods, but not for prone target shooting. I like these because the pivot is easily locked down with an allen key, you can have it swivel on an rubber O-ring if you choose, I just remove the O and crank the allen down so it's immovable., a pretty stable almost fixed system and short. The feet are only adjustable to level your firearm to the terrain, not adjustable for changing the height, I think a lot of people don't understand that. I like that they are twist adjustable so you can easily reach up with one hand and twist the leg-lock, level the rifle and twist it back locked without having to get up. I guess I can understand the complaints about the clearance of thirty round mags, but I have no need to use a 30 round mag when target shooting from prone and generally use a ten round since I am doing 5 shot groupings, but the 20 round mags also have plenty of clearance if you need the extra capacity.Read more ›

UTG has several different models of this same bipod, differing only in how much extension the legs have. This product is the "S" model, whose legs only extend 0.8", which is too short to be of any value for tactical rifles. It is DEFINITELY not a SWAT/Combat Profile, as described. I should have heeded the other reviews before I ordered it for my Mini-14 and SIG 522. If you have a tactical rifle, DO NO order this bipod. I'm stuck with it now, as it will cost 25% of the cost to return it.

This product, although well made, is much shorter than you would expect. Cannot use it with an AR-15 style rifle because the magazine will touch ground before the fully extended legs will!! But for a bolt-action rifle, this would be perfect!!

This is my first bipod so I really have nothing to compare it to but I like it. Strong metal construction. Legs have internal springs for extention. Just twist the ends and the pop out. You can't just slap the legs down, you have to unlatch them with your thumb and drop them down. It is a little loose after installation but not too bad. I have not used it at the range yet but I can't wait.

I attached this to my Ruger American Rifle .308, and it has been working like a dream. I love how easy this is to use, and the stability it gives.

The UTG Bipod, Swat/Combat Profile fit perfectly on my Hi-Point .45 Carbine with the magazine inserted. There is about 1/8" clearance between magazine and mounting surface with stock firmly resting on the mounting surface. UTG Bipod, SWAT/Combat Profile, Adjustable Height, Rubberized Stand
