Excellent product!! Easy to use and very effective. Had previously burning Ubuntu to a CD but my it didn't work out. This product, however, installs effortlessly!

Before you set boot priority for a USB device, plug the device into a USB port.

To specify the boot sequence:

Start the computer and press ESC, F1, F2, F8 or F10 during the initial startup screen. Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, a menu may appear.
Choose to enter BIOS setup. The BIOS setup utility page appears.
Use the arrow keys to select the BOOT tab. System devices appear in order of priority.
To give a CD or DVD drive boot sequence priority over the hard drive, move it to the first position in the list.
To give a USB device boot sequence priority over the hard drive, do the following:
Move the hard drive device to the top of the boot sequence list.
Expand the hard drive device to display all hard drives.
Move the USB device to the top of the list of hard drives.
Save and exit the BIOS setup utility.

I purchased this device to replace the Limpus Linux OS that came pre-installed in my Acer TravelMate (also purchased on Amazon). Once I worked out how to change the BIOS settings on the PC (another matter altogether), Ubuntu loaded quickly and with no problems. One tip, however; when the start-up menu screen displays on your monitor, select the middle option, then select Ubuntu 14.04. The default option that is recommended didn't work for me. A thumbs up for this thumb drive.

Bug in ubuntu 14 causes this product to fail to boot automatically as it should after I reset the BIOS for it. Type in command line "live" and then enter to activate a boot from this usb key. Found this tip on-line. The product itself didn't come with these set up instructions. Problems resolved by my actions. I am now running this ubuntu os on my computer.
