Ultega Trampoline Jumper with Safety Net, 6 - 14 feet
Nowadays, trampolining is becoming more and more popular for kids and adults of all ages. It allows children the ability to have hours upon hours of fun and an opportunity for parents to provide a safe and effort form of exercise for their children. Trampolining has been proven to improve cardiovascular health, enhance motor skills and improve balance.
But it’s not just for children. The health benefits are the same for adults as well. Training on the Ultega Trampoline Jumper with Safety Net will enhance your mobility, strengthen your muscles and gradually increase your stamina. And unlike running, it won’t put an undue strain on your joints. A study conducted by NASA has proven that trampolining is the most effective way to burn body fat. Just a simple 10 minute-a-day jumping session has the same effect as a 30-minute jog.

But despite all this, there wasn't a trampoline out there that could beat the $359 price tag. With safety a top priority, it did seem that the base had a good design and the safety net was a definite plus! (Note: the product description lists the net as 4 ft high - it's wrong - it's over 6 ft high). All of the reviews I read indicated that Ultega had superior customer service and went out of their way to resolve any problems. After agonizing over these pros & cons, this helped tip the scales so I decided pull the trigger & put in my order (17 Jun 2012).
Unfortunately, I did become one of the victims of only receiving one box. In fact, Amazon had listed this product as 'unavailable' a day after I made my order. Very frustrating! After a couple of phone calls to Amazon, I discovered that there was an inventory problem at the distribution center & it sounded like the three boxes weren't getting stored in the same area. Three days after my order, Amazon had fixed this problem & I had requested an overnight shipment for the trampoline. I wanted to have it in time for my daughter's birthday - they came through on that front & for that they get mega kudos!
Fast forward a month - the kids still love it & the trampoline has not shown any signs of wear or stretching. In fact, I've gotten in there a few times & jumped around with my 95-pound daughter & 80-pound son. At 240 pounds, I figured I was putting the 'bounciness' of the trampoline at risk, but it still performs as good as the day we bought it. Oh - one last thing - this thing is extremely stable! We had a severe thunderstorm roll through our town (80 mph gusts) that knocked down one tree & large limbs into our yard - the trampoline didn't budge an inch & it wasn't even staked down! In my opinion, this trampoline has been one of the best bargains I've had in quite a while! If you're in the market, I'd recommend you buy one too!
UPDATE (2-year): Now that I've had the trampoline for two years, I have noticed some of the material on the trampoline isn't so UV-resistant. First, the foam that covers the poles of the safety net started deteriorating within a year and easily chafed. After two years, it lost it's shape and started separating from the pole. Not a real big deal in my book, but it does lessen the safety aspects of the trampoline if a kid comes crashing into the pole (this will only affect the bigger ones, little ones don't have enough weight to touch the poles). The other annoying thing, which could be a safety hazard over time, is the blue skirting that covers the springs has started to come apart (UV degradation). There is foam padding underneath so bits of material coming off is not a big problem... yet. I fear if over time enough of it comes off, there will be nothing to hold the foam in place. This deterioration is the worse at the entrance of the trampoline - I will continue to monitor until it becomes a safety hazard. With those things aside, the rest of trampoline is still in good condition. However, I'm knocking off one star due to the issues mentioned above.
It's larger than expected and I actually wish we got a smaller size.
The setup was a bit tedious and cumbersome and the instructions weren't very accurate.
The hard to install safety perimeter must be removed in order to install a cover for the winter.
There's no specification of the ground to rim height so buying a ladder was a guessing game.
It's 35" by the way, which means you'll want to buy a 36-40" ladder.
An included ladder would've been nice as they aren't cheap.
Ground anchors were also not included. You'll need a set of 8 at a significant added cost.
It's very high quality and should last for many years.
