I will say this right up front: yes, the actual board games are more fun than this--and there are other video games that have done this better. However, you get a nice varied collection with this that will suit different sorts. There are games for all ages. If you don't have anyone to play with, you can play against the computer. It is also great if you are too tired or too sick to drag out a board game. It definitely takes up less room, and you don't have to worry about loss pieces.

The music can be annoying. The graphics are very simple and not very impressive. If you like eye candy, this is not the game collection for you. You have the option to select the number of players, the difficulty, the number of rounds, and special rules. The game gives you basic instructions on how to play. There are three categories, each with four games. The Classics category has chess, checkers, Reversi, and Backgammon. Strategy has Quatro, Gomoku, Mahjong, and Sodoku. Family has Jigsaws, Chinese Checkers, Wordcubes, and Naval Battle.

Chess: I got this game mainly for this, but I hate playing against the computer. It always has the same strategy. Mind you, it is very effective--it either kicks my butt or we have a stalemate. It wins by taking all your pieces. It doesn't care if it loses pieces in the process. You can do a little better if you change your strategy each time you play. However, I get bored being beaten the same way every time.

Checkers: sometimes the pieces are hard to grab with the Wii remote, but it is basically checkers

Reversi: I do not get this game at all. I can't figure out the strategy. It seems totally random to me--and the computer always seems to win.

Backgammon: it was sometimes hard to move the pieces with the Wii remote, and I think initially I was confused about how to move them. However, the game itself is just like regular backgammon--only it is on the TV screen.

Quatro: This is just like Connect 4.

Gomoku: Just like Quatro, except you try to get five in a row. A little more challenging for those who think Quatro is a little lame.

Mahjong: My absolute favorite game of this series. You have lots of arrangements to choose from, and three tile sets. However, admittedly, they are a little hard to see. Computer games tend to be better for visualization. Some of the tiles are very similar looking and yet are different. This game also doesn't give you hints. I initially got sea sick because it often has moving objects in the background. The music is also the most aggravating.

Sudoku: Another disappointment. What is the point of a game that doesn't allow you to make mistakes?

Jigsaws: My second favorite. You can choose between standard pieces, triangular pieces, or circular pieces. Triangular pieces are more challenging, and circular pieces are dang near impossible. These puzzles don't have a large amount of pieces. You will be able to finish it in one sitting, unless you choose circles and give up.

Chinese Checkers: Sometimes hard to grab, and I think some of the marbles were sometimes hard to differentiate when they were all together--but otherwise it is just like Chinese Checkers.

Wordcubes: This is like Boggle.

Naval Battle: This is Battle Ship. I was a little confused at first, but I got the hang of it. It does seem simpler in a way, but I still enjoyed it.

My mom and I enjoy this. It does have some games that haven't been done by other series (like Family Game Night). It also might be good for a family where you have people who are different ages and have different tastes.

Great game at a great price, I was surprised to see it had Chinese Checkers, that's a game you dont see to often on consoles, definitely worth it especially at this price.

I personally liked this game. You can play the following, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, Reversi, Sudoku, Word Cubes, Jigsaws, Mahjongg, Gomoku, Naval Battle and Quatro. I really like Navle Battle and Mahjongg but I'm an old school player.
