Serial number doesn't match. Missing components.

Did some googling and realized that I was supposed to have an AC charger for this speaker, but it wasn't in the box. Moreover, the serial number on my speaker doesn't match the box. This is an indicator for a few things. It's not a new product, it has been refurbished, and/or it is a counterfeit. This wouldn't be a problem if that was advertised, however, I was expecting a new product. Shame on the seller. Otherwise, the product works well for now.

Edit: I have since returned the product simply because I have doubts about its authenticity and quality. I bought the Sony SRS-XB31 instead and it sounds just as great (if not better) and comes with extra features.

This was sold as new but the serial number doesn't match. There is something sketchy going on here and at the very best it's misleading. Buyers, be aware of this.

I will update this review once I've used it for a while to make sure it lasts and works correctly. If this is refurbished, they should not be allowed to claim that it is being sold new.

UPDATE: It is still working to this day. So not unhappy with the purchase. But I’m not sure if I just got lucky.

I had a difficult time deciding between this speaker and the JBL Flip 5. I did end up choosing the flip 5. Although, I do love the sound of this speaker. The speaker sounds super crisp and clean. I like that a lot. It doesn't have much base and it doesn't seem quite as full as the JBL. The final tipping point for me was just the charging cable. The JBL takes the USBC which is the same as my phone and that's way more convenient for me. Also the black looked a little gray and not black enough to me.

Between not as much base, the charging cable and the color, I decided on the JBL (which I love). But it honestly was a tough decision. I like this speaker a lot. I think it looks awesome and it does produce great sound. Maybe not quite as full as the JBL though. Sorry Boom 2 :)

I don't know what else to say about this speaker, charge holds me for 2 + days with fairly heavy use. I've been in hospital for more than a year now and music keeps me sane, so quality sound is an imperative for me. Much cheaper than the Bose and the sound is comparable. I use it for spotify from my Ipad and for movies on my laptop and I also use it on the tv in my hospital room. This speaker has hit the floor 4 times now and no dents and absolutely no effect on the sound. This thing is rugged. I know it is not the latest model , but for my needs and the difference in price this is the perfect speaker. Less than $90 bought me fabulous clarity. Btw the built in equalizer on the app is fabulous as well, presets that are all customizable so I'm able to adjust for different rooms and uses. ( Monday night football would not use the same EQ as Miles Davis) Also this thing has volume to spare, I've gotten busted by the charge nurse for blasting Led Zeppelin @ 7 am. But hey you gotta live.....do it up right with this speaker!

The UE Boom series has been one of my favorite Bluetooth speakers since Bluetooth speaker came into existence.

If you connect multiples, the sound increases very quickly. Even just (2) Booms is enough for an outdoor party. I am up to (4) now and place them outside anytime we are grilling or having an outdoor activity. I also have one that stays dedicated to my Echo Dot.

The style of hanging, the design in general, and sound quality are all top-notch. A steal at the lightning deal price!

I bought this for Christmas unknowingly receiving another from a relative for Christmas for myself. Upon opening the one I received as a gift vs the one I ordered, I did some more digging.

Something seems off and suspicious. The boxes are very different, the one I ordered didn’t come with an adapter but the most alarming issue is the upc and serial number — which had been torn off on the box leaving me unable to verify if this is what I paid for.

Shameful that two people in the same family can order thee exact same thing and have such a difference in what they receive. Fortunately, it works but this type of business — BUYERS BEWARE.

We have a pair of these we use in the backyard and when camping or on vacation. If you're looking for really loud sound you may want a bigger unit, but for good sound quality at a reasonable volume, durability, ease of use, portability, and long battery life these are great. Using 2 speakers via one phone can be hit or miss on connectivity. I've fought with it on one Samsung phone until tweaking just the right BT permissions got it working finally, but another paired both right away with smart things. Using 1 speaker I've not had any problems with pairing connecting, and added a second one out of curiosity and to get more of a stereo effect. Battery lasts a long time, and charges via any Bluetooth power source. I haven't dunked one yet, but they've handled rain and spills without any issue, as well as being dropped a few times.

Party Up no longer works

I have two of these Boom 2 speakers that until a recent update worked great. If you dont know already the Party Up feature is what you use to connect your speakers wirelessly through the UE app. I've always had trouble getting them to connect (it usually took several attempts), but after the update the Party Up doesn't even see the second speaker. This isn't just me as Google Play was full of 1-star reviews for the same reason. My phone (Galaxy S9) has the ability to connect to two speakers but they're always out of sync with one playing about 2 seconds behind the other... it sounds really really bad. By themselves the speakers are okay but the sound quality was much better with more than one. The ability to connect 150+ speakers was one of the main reasons I bought these speakers so I feel ripped off by UE.

Very happy with this speaker. Considering its compact size, the sound is great. It can also play quite loud too when you turn it up. The construction is very solid - it feels nice and hefty and high quality. Battery life has been great too. Used it off and on for the better part of a week before having to recharge it. The Bluetooth pairing has been solid and range is excellent too. Overall, I think this speaker is an excellent value. It sounds as good or better than much more expensive models and ticks all the right boxes for me.

I thought better this in the first generation with extended battery life battery life is around 7 hours I would say at full blast it seems that the original ones were a bit louder and the fact that it floated was a plus I would love if they made it vibrate instead of a high tone pitch noise when you turn it up too loud very disturbing and painful to the ears and also if it had a microphone on each end when you're charging it you don't want to sit it on the charger and break it so you turn it upside down away from the microphone which is very poor quality and you're not allowed to adjust the volume through the app which is very annoying to have to use apps for Bluetooth very much invasion of privacy for the most part you don't know what permission you're giving to these companies private information was reserved for banks and government institutions but no longer is it and readily available for people to do what they want making identity theft such a sought-after Target and will lead to so-called let's make life better we all know that humans with their cruel hearts don't make life better but I love you all and I pray for you to find empathy for your fellow man in Jesus name amen no lies no violence it's not your place as a man or woman to hurt or do violence to others love your brothers and sisters in Jesus name amen

Excellent speaker, but two notable things. It did not come with a wall adapter for the charger, just the cable. And my biggest complaint is the firmware was out of date and would not connect to multiple speakers. It had to be updated via the UE app (which was a relatively simple, wireless process) in order for everything to work as advertised. My guess is they’re clearing out old stock. After that it’s a great little speaker. Would buy again, would recommend to a friend.

I used to listen to my music and/or YouTube on my desktop PC. I was so impressed how Ultimate Ears Boom 2 Wireless Speaker could improve the sound quality when my friend loaned me one. I made the purchase right away.
It was very easy to install. However, to recharge the unit was not straight forward because it was not easy to plug the cable to the recharge port. I had to watch the 'who-to' video on the YouTube to know exactly how to charge. Basically a small white light near the charging port has to blink if it was charging properly.

The App is an added bonus - didn't think much of it at first. The app allows you to adjust to the type of music your listening too - ex. more bass wanted for some or more vocal for others. It also adjusts for indoor, cramped or small spaces. You can really hear the difference!

Left it out in heavy rain overnight by accident and ti still works great! (thank god). No bluetooth problems for me.

So far so good!
