This is an extremely honest review for the average person looking for an affordable, but quality speaker. If you're one of those impossible to please people that nitpicks over trivial details, or feels the need to post a petty google review every time their food doesn't show up exactly when they want it at a busy restaurant then this isn't for you. I bought this Wonderboom because my Bose Soundlink finally bit the dust and I was going on vacation in a few days and needed a replacement. This thing blows my old Bose Soundlink clear out of the water in every category. Its small enough to throw in your carry on or beach bag and not take up much space, but for how small it is this thing legit BOOMS. That isn't an exaggeration either. Does it make my entire house rattle? No, but why would you need that for a portable bluetooth speaker anyways? However, I tested it in the shower on about 80% volume and I could see the water vibrating from the bass and I didn't want to turn it up any more than that because I thought it might disturb the neighbors! Haven't tried it in the pool yet, but so far the waterproof design checks out. Not to mention its insanely easy to pair and has yet to have any trouble finding my device unlike my older Bose Soundlink. You can also pair to other UE devices in conjunction with the Wonderboom to really kick things up a notch. For $60 you'd be crazy not to get this!

Great portable speaker, lost my old one and had to get another one! Very portable and great battery life, pairs very easily too. Apparently it’s waterproof and floats, but I’d rather not throw it in the hot tub. Love the sound too it’s perfect for me. Only thing I would change is the hanging loop it’s a little small for me. Otherwise it’s perfect!

Update:
I’ve had this speaker for well over a year now and it’s still just as great as the day I opened it, the battery life is still amazing.
Also durable between me and my daughter Its definitely been dropped a couple times and it’s totally fine.

I have a Harmon and kardon onyx 3 which is one of the best Bluetooth speakers ever made hands down. It’s extremely accurate and sounds superb for the money. That being said I needed a speaker for my girlfriend who goes kayaking and tends to be clumsy. The onyx 3 isn’t water resistant or drop resistant and it has a bigger footprint so I wanted to get her something a little smaller and would be more suited for taking some damage. I was originally looking into a jbl charge and had almost made the purchase when I stumbled upon this item. I had never heard of ultimate ears and wasn’t sure they were someone I was willing to take a chance on. Harmon and Kardon are the parent company of JBL so I know they make a great product. Well it turns out Logitech is the parent company of ultimate ears. They have made some great stuff including the well sought after Z-5500 sound system which I actually own. So I decided to listen to it at Best Buy and I only had a few tracks to demo it but it sounded pretty good. When it arrived and I could test it at any volume I pleased and any song I wanted I got to hear it full potential. Considering it’s size it’s get pretty darn loud. The bass is punchy but it won’t be shaking the walls down. They make bigger models which will do that and there is always the onyx which is another great choice but if you’re looking for a smaller speaker which great sounds, don’t hesitate. Logitech makes great products so I’d stand by this in a heart beat. Seems very durable and hopefully it’s drop resistant and water resistant. I will update if anything changes.

The speakers small amount of scratchiness has dissipated.
I think the break-in period meant some stiffness in the woofers perhaps.
Not sure exactly. But I've used it nearly every day since I purchased it and it sounds great.

A coworker bought a UE Boom 2 (the long cylindrical cousin of this squat chunky speaker)
And we were surprised at the difference.
The Boom 2 has no bass at all. It's like they sucked out any Lows.
In comparison, the Wonderboom sounds wayyy better.
Adding a star for that.
Still annoying how the on/off sounds are loud.
Also found that it takes forever to charge.

I got sucked into their ad campaign I admit.
They make the product look cool. GREAT marketing team.
The formfactor of their products is very cool and pleasing as well.

Very well made, has a good solid feel and texture to it.
I'm a collector of cheap bluetooth speakers it seems.
Bigger brick style ones, smaller spherical ones etc.
The $20-$50 range usually.
They either stop working or have very poor sound that's very one directional.
I figured it was time to step up to a little pricier/nicer one.
I didn't quite want to go with Harmon Kardon so this WonderBoom was a good pricepoint!

I do like the multiple woofers (I think there are two inside) so it's not exactly "360" as they say, but it's definitely better than what I've had in the past.
The color is perfect lol (black) which I like as it's understated but the colorful ones look cool as well!

My gripes and why I took two stars off:
The power-on and power-off sounds are always loud.
If you have the speaker playing at a low volume, and you want to shut it off, well, you get a big sound as you shut it off.
It would be better if the sound effects were either mutable or abided by the sound level chosen for speaker output.

The other more prevalent and important issue is the sound.
There's certainly a bass quality in the speaker, which is nice; but the highs sound quite scratchy.
I do stream 192kbps from spotify sources that have it. The audio isn't wildly scratchy but if listening for it it's noticeable.
I'm not sure if that's due in part to the waterproofing layer around the enclosure or if that's just how it comes through regardless.
As I wrote this the noticeability became more and more of an annoyance....So this went from a 4 to a 3 star review pretty quickly.

In my opinion for $85 which is a bit of a entry level premium price, I'd expect richer, warmer sound with no amount of scratchiness.

I'll use it a few more days and decide if it's worth returning and diving into a harmon kardon speaker after all.

I’m absolutely smitten with this speaker. I use it every single day and with every shower. It’s still going strong after a year of excessive use. The sound is crisp and clear. It works great for quieter listening in my room or for outdoor parties with friends. It’s extremely portable and lightweight and the little loop attached to the top comes in handier than I ever expected. It pairs automatically to my device when turned on which is convenient, though it tends to favour my original iPad mini and sometimes just stops or shuts off with guest paired devices, but that’s not a big deal to me. The battery life is wicked amazing, and I feel like I’ve charged it no more than 10 times in a year. However the louder you listen the more is depletes the battery, as with most speakers I’m sure. I’ve never had much luck with audio electronics but I took a chance and bought a refurbished one for much cheaper than it was a year ago and I’m glad I did because it’s been one of my most used items. Since I bought the speaker the price has decreased dramatically so I’m happy to know that if anything ever happens to mine I can get it again for around the same amount as I paid! All in all it’s a handy little speaker to have for everyday use (that is if you live in a place where you can have music going any hour of the day) and I truly recommend picking one of these up if you want a brilliant little speaker for a great price.

Keeping my review sweet and simple, this is an incredible speaker, that has impressed just about anyone who has heard from it. You'll be amazed with how this tiny little speaker performs! Added a carabiner to the hook and this is now my Go Anywhere tool!

A little bit more details:
Pros:
- Compact design
- The volume buttons look funky and often people mistake it as just a design element until I tell them they're buttons, to which they quite definitely react, "Oooh!".
- While most people probably would not have heard of the brand and will ask you what brand it is, they will quite definitely be impressed with the performance. Even my parents really liked it, and unlike their usual self, they thought of the product doing justice to the price tag. Which, is a rare moment for me.
- Most importantly, you will enjoy carrying this nifty little speaker just around anywhere you go.
- Sound quality is fantastic, you can place it at various places to get different audio experiences: keep it in a place that's densely covered with sound absorbing fabric, and you'll have a soft, muffled but clear sound, great for background ambience music at parties. Keep it in the middle of the room on the floor, it'll get loud and crisp. Keep it in a corner for deeper bass. Just limitless possibilities of audio experiences!
- Waterproof. Floats. The sound muffles when you soak the speaker, but opens up once the water drains out. Kinda scares me when I do, but it works. Had it dusty from the treks and places I'd taken it to, just gave it a wash and scrubbed with a cloth scrubber, and it's neat again!
- Pairing is simple, but sometimes it seems to take a while to connect.
- Looks adorable.
- Gets astonishingly loud. We managed a dance party with around 15 people around, and the speaker didn't disappoint!
- Stereo that works! It's a stereo setup arranged for a 360° coverage. Does justice to even movie watching, sounds very clear and the dynamic range is really good. No muddling of sounds, and offers a fairly good soundstage for a single speaker.
- The 360° sound is fantastic, and probably the best a portable speaker can have!
- Durable. Mine has taken a couple of drops and it feels like nothing happened. Some of my friends consider it a great rock and imagine how it would be like to throwing it on someone. Would definitely hurt. 😂
- Ooh the battery backup! How it impresses, especially when you see the competition. Easily lasts 9-10 hrs of playback on approx 50% volume, and about 2.5-3 hrs on full blast.

Cons:
- Doesn't work with their own app. No equalization from that end.
- Limited to two speakers in pairing? Well, one is good enough, and two, itself is quite a blast. Waiting to get another piece for my parents and then I'll test it out for myself! I've known these speakers to not split out the stereo to individual speakers once paired, which is kinda sad. Would have made amazing speakers for movie watching if that worked.
- No included carabiner. A simple carabiner adds a lot of possibilities to how you can carry this around.
