This book is very thorough and complete for a player with solid reading skills as well as slid soccer experience already. What I mean by this is that this is not a book for beginner players or coaches. For me, a long time player/coach, I can easily envision the many situations and scenarios described and know how I could use that information to make me a better player/coach. I am not sure less experienced players/coaches would be able to quickly apply what they read, but that doesn't mean it isn't good information! The descriptions are very good and help the reader draw a "picture in their own brain" of each scenario of action on the field as to their own positioning as well as what their mental outlook on the situation should be. For a player with several years of experience at a level where they actually play positions and have more than a few little kids on the field, his book would definitely help develop additional skills, both mental and physical.

I just realised that you cannot really explain the position without tactics. For example, you won’t have full backs and wing back at the same time. Each position has a certain set of roles under specific tactics or formation. This is what this book lacks. If you know wing backs’ role in 3-5-2, then you will be convinced by tips in the book. Without it, you may be confused by reading wing backs after full backs.

I also would like to see more illustrations as understanding the position only by text is difficult.

It is not unclear who are targeted readers. Each section has a para dedicated to necessary skills, personal traits, benefit and drawback, should you play this position, etc, which Looks for beginners but not sure if beginners would read and understand. Maybe for coaches??

I see some tips are good to remind you something, but I did not find this book as a complete product.
