I recently started to (attempt to) cook, and this starter set is PERFECT. For one, it is absolutely adorable and it makes my cabinet look SUPER organized. I have only used so far about 6 of the 24 spices, but it's good to have such a wide range.

For those wondering how to open these, I had to look it up. I read that you can just break the plastic hole with a knife or a fork and that's what I did and it works pretty well. The plastic piece does fall into the bottle, and I didn't want to rip off the labels to open the lid, so I just left them in there and I know to be cautious about it if it ever comes out.

One of my bottles (sesame seeds) came without a label and I wasn't sure it was considered sealed so I threw it out. It didn't disappoint me too much because I hate sesame seeds, but just an FYI.

The starter spice is perfect. It's about 1/3 the size of say a 5.25 oz seasoning container. It definitely comes with the most popular seasoning, very happy to turmeric was there! I'm working on cooking more for myself cause eating on the run has not been for me weight wise. All the spices smell and taste wonderful. I've already used some for chicken recipes. The spice are flavorful and fresh tasting. I was happy there was no salt or salt based spices. I didn't have a rack so I opted for the shoe box and it works for me. I will purchased again in the future.

I'm happy that they're half-sized

Just the right spices for a basic starter kit (with a few extras that I'm excited to try), and since I couldn't possibly use all of them before the 'best if used by' date if they were the larger size, I'm happy that they're half-sized. Just what I was looking for, and I like that they're stackable, too. They're all fresh, as far as I can tell so far.

I really like the variety you get, it has all the spices I wanted. So far no problems flavor wise. I wish there was a mix and match option so you could make a custom set, but oh well. Also wish they came in a plastic case or something for storage, and that the tops came in other colors to make it look nicer in your kitchen. They stack nicely and the spices flow well out of the caps- you have to stab the seal with a pen or something to open it though.
