I wanted to love this product. Clearly, someone worked hard, but I could not publish even the first book. The tutorials were helpful, but time consuming. Too, the font kept changing despite multiple attempts to fix it. I contacted the author four times and never received a response. So, now I am trying to get my money back, but I have little hope this will happen. You may want to try another ebook creator. Very disappointed.

First of all, I have tried some other programs but none of them have been quite what I was looking for. They each had their own good features but there'd be a rough learning curve or it would only be part of what I needed. UEC was pushing a hundred dollars so I put it on my wish list and it sat. What a mistake.
This program is hands down the best one I have ever used. It's my new best friend (aside from the characters in my head). Within half an hour of installation, I had all the tedious title pages and descriptions set up for all 7 of my books. Within 3 hours, I had everything transferred from numerous unorganized documents on MS Word to the UEC program in a fashion that I can easily maneuver through. (All 7 books!)
For me, I decided to organize my writing into scenes, instead of chapters, while I go through and make all the final corrections. I can then go back later and move them into proper chapters for publishing. So Easy!

Breakdown:
User-friendly - 5 stars (see above)
Communication for UEC Support - 5 stars (quick and friendly in less than 24 hours)
Installation - 5 stars (easy installed from disc on windows 8.1)
Features - 5 stars (has what other programs don't... love it!)

This product does not come in a box. It comes as just a disc in the mail so don't overlook it. However, this software doesn't need any fancy packaging. It is a steal at this price. With time being so precious to a writer, you will not be dissatisfied. My recommendation is to avoid other programs that offer less. Whether you write fiction or non-fiction, this program will pay for itself in one day.
SO WORTH IT.

MicroSoft Word eBook Creator (maybe)

A proper title for this software would be Microsoft Word eBook Creator because that is the only input it will accept and its quite particular about what version of Microsoft Word the file was generated in before it will accept it. For it to live up to its name Of Ultimate...it should accept far more input. Microsoft Word is not the only word processor out there.
Also it wants a table of contents even if your book does not need it. And it is biased towards EPUB books not the more popular MOBI format. It is crash prone and extremely complex to try to use with a fairly high learning curve. It wants to duplicate the functions of a word processor as well as try to convert the file. All in all too elaborate of a program and not worth the bother. There are plenty of free alternatives out there on the internet to convert your eBook far more easily than this.
I tried uploading into it some Microsoft Word and PDF files and they did not work. The program said "successfully converted" but all I had were useless empty files.
It does not have an auto start when you put it in the drive. You have to go directly to the directory on the CD and click on the .exe icon for it to load.
If you don't know how to do this you will not be able to start the program; it will sit in the drive.
I would not purchase this program again and have to write it off as a loss. Its only redeeming value is that the two eBooks, fonts and cover templates have some value. Otherwise it would have gotten one star.

I build Gaming PC's as a hobby. That being said, you should come to the conclusion that I know my way around a PC. I do. I could not get it to run at all. It keeps on telling me that a file is missing. I look within the folders of the program, and I find the file that is still missing but for some reason, the program does not recognize it. I wanted to like this program because I want to write my story. I thought it would be a good program. But being that it won't even start up, I don't even want to give it 1 star.

If you want to write an eBook, or self-publish a hard cover, I recommend this software product. I have published 2 books so far, albeit short ones at this point, but I am just getting started. Others have commented that they cannot get support on this software, but I have had no problems getting very quick answers to two or three questions I have had. Nitin was very quick to help and respond. If you are willing to watch the provided videos, they are very good at pointing out how to do things step-by-step. The only drawback I have found is that some of the videos are mildly outdated due to changes that Amazon makes so the videos in a couple of cases are not up to speed but still provide what you need to know, or you can email and get an answer quickly. A Dad Remembered: Because He Couldn't and We All Know One: Happenstances with a Goofball: Engage Mouth Before Brain is the other one's title. It makes importing and converting very easy.
