Worked perfect for my original XBox HDD upgrade!
I decided to softmod my original Xbox and upgrade to a 1tb sata drive using an adapter, but was greeted with an error code upon booting the system. I quickly found while searching that when using a sata drive you need to upgrade the IDE to an 80 wire cable. This cable seemed to meet my requirements and the price was nice. Immediately after plugging everything in the system properly booted and worked as it should. It's a bit longer than needed, but I was able to fold and route the cable neatly as you can see in the picture I posted.

I was going to use this to replace an original Xbox IDE cable but I'm not sure whether someone was blind or what but the middle ide connectors did not have pins in it. I took it apart and tried adding another one but failed but if the seller would like to replace it fine but I bought another one anyway. I can send a picture of the connector to the seller if they wish for evicence.

I used this for my original XBox 1tb hard drive upgrade. I had already done all of the copying with the old cable and tried plugging it in. Sadly, I was getting an error 13 once I plugged in the new hard drive. I ordered this cable hoping it might help. I plugged it in and it worked perfect. I didn't even have to recopy all of my data to the new hard drive. It was pretty much plug and play!

Let me begin with this, I ordered this to replace the cable in my Original XBOX. The first time I received the package it was not what was advertised at all, so I figured it was an error and sent it back. They sent me a new one and lo and behold it is the exact same WRONG cable again. The product I was delivered is not at all what I ordered. Not only is it not the correct length, it is only a single device cable. Even if I wanted to modify the cable to fit my needs, it is too short and not 24".

This cable got me up and running with a 2TB SATA HDD in original Xbox. It worked well for about 2 weeks before I accidentally tore the cable. I was swapping some things around in my Xbox's case and noticed a small tear on some of the wires in the cable.

I am giving this 3 stars because it does the job if you are gentle with the cable. If you're in the market for a new cable though, I would look for something sturdier. If do you get this one, buy at least 2 so you have a replacement in case one breaks. The OEM cable is a beast and I wish I could use that instead, but it doesn't meet the required speeds for SATA.

Worked perfectly with my upgraded HDD using a SATA to IDE conversion board in my original Xbox. Didn't fully boot to the dash when using the original 40 pin 40 conductor cable.

If your going to exactly mirror the new cable with the old, you'll end up with the connector ends facing the wrong way. I had to sort of mirror a few folds to get parts of the new cable tucked away and connected to DVD-ROM and HDD.

I inspected the wire & come to find out that the gray plug has no pins & it moves! Please, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!! Trust me on this, DO NOT BUY!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars I am cheated - I just want a replacement with serviceable Ultra ATA 100/133 IDE Cable, 2 Device, IDC 40...
Reviewed in India on August 8, 2015
I purchased the below stated item on line :-

I am very unhappy that, both the items I received were completely unserviceable right from the start.

I am ""CHEATED"" IN THESE 2 PURCHASES.

Sellers are not responding and replacing the same.

(1).SEAGATE 160GB IDE 3.5" INTERNAL HARD DISK . along with

(2). Ultra ATA 100/133 IDE Cable, 2 Device, IDC 40.

I purchased online. when I removed the old serviceable cable from my computer & connected this NEW one It just did not work. My computer did not start. So, I connected to my 2nd computer the same way. That also did not start. So I put my old cables again and my computer worked properly. So I informed you - "amazon.com" but the Seller / provider refused to replace the same. This cable is useless and I have kept it to return it for its "Perfect Replacement" by the Seller.

I expect Amazon to take proper action and help me in replacing the same.

All the details of its purchase are kept properly for replacement.
