The final release of Street Fighter 4. For those who have not purchased previous versions, let it be known this is a great buy. You get all DLC and all characters from previous versions, totaling to 44 fighters.The gameplay has been changed from previous versions with the introduction of game changing mechanics. This includes:

Red focus:

This new focus absorbs a infinite amount of hits but costs meter, this leads to new ways to counter certain multi hit moves and get a big punish. The second change with this new focus is that if used in any combo it nets you a crumple for extended combos. This leads to many new combo opportunites and gives you more ways to land certain match specific ultras that are hard to land or used to prevent opponent from doing certain things (i.e. Breathless, Abare Tosanami, Rolling Thunder), compared to easier to land ultras (Souless, Corkscrew Blow, Seichusen Godanzuki).

W Ultra:

This allows you to have access to both ultras (or four if you play Gen) at the cost of doing 75% of normal damage (60% for grapplers). This allows more opportunities to land damage either in combos or have utility. Some character benefit heavily from this, example makoto can combo after U2 so even with reduced damage it's good plus the utility, and ultra 1 does good damage (even more so if you super first).

Delayed wake up:

Same as CvS2 tactical recovery, this cause your character to get up 11 frames later. This helps escape unblockables and meaty jump ins, safe jump, and many other vortex or set ups. This helps many characters greatly, as previously certain vortexs (Hi Akuma) left you at a guessing game with no options to counter (generally speaking).

The core of Street Fighter is in this game with advanced mechanics, but this game is easily accessible, many people have picked this game up and learned to play quickly. For people looking to get into fighting games or SF in general, this is the game for you.

USF4 also adds in 4 SFxT characters (Rolento, Poison, Hugo, and Elena) as well as newcomer Decapre, who is a blast to play. The characters add more diversity to the roster and each character feels unique. Hugo is a huge target, has high health, and slow, but any combo does 30-45%, Hugo brings the pain. Poison has decent zoning, good upclose game, along with plenty of links and combos that look pretty and are fun. Rolento hops around away and is extremely mobile for confusing pressure or run away, with some decent combos and nice ultras. Elena I'm not too familiar with yet, but has good reach and combos. Finally you have Decapre, with plenty of combos, pressure, and great ultras. Her normals are very good thanks to Cammy, and her c.mk to lp hands is safe vs most the cast.

Overall this is a great purchase and highly recommended to any fighting game vet or newcomer.

This is the definitive Street Fighter 4 game.

It comes with 44 characters and all the previous DLC costumes for all characters except the 5 new additions of Hugo, Rolento, Elena, Poison, and Decapre. These character costumes (in addition to new ones for the other characters) needs to be purchased through DLC.

One of the things about this game is that it comes with version 1.05, which fixes the infinite Gen glitch and comes with Omega versions of all 44 fighters. Some fighters in Omega mode feel a lot different than their SF4 counterparts (especially Decapre, who initially is a charge character and becomes a motion character in Omega mode). This essentially brings the roster to 88 since Omega alters specials, regular attacks, and supers of many characters.

Although there are 6 new stages, they are only carry overs from SFxTK. I clamor for the days of Street Fighter Alpha 3 when every character (besides the very late additions of Eagle, Jun, Maki, and Ingrid) had their own stages. The other stages from SSF:AE are essentially the same and each have two variants. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer a lot of variety in my fighting game backgrounds. So stages are a major disappointment here.

Overall it's a great game and I felt I got this at a great bargain for $18 brand new and free shipping.

Compete seriously or play casually!

Ultra Street Fighter 4 is still the top played game at EVO. I personally like having a disk so I can play with friends around town if they don't have a copy. But if you already own any of the Street Fighter 4's, you can simply download the upgrade for about $15.

Just a heads up... EVO and nearly all USF4 tournaments across America play ONLY on Xbox 360. So you may want to consider buying a copy an Xbox 360 version instead of PS3 version if you want to play physically at tournaments. Also, you'll get more online players on 360 than PS3.

If you are thinking about getting the full Street Fighter experience, grab a fight stick (arcade style joystick for your console). Remember, most USB fight sticks are not cross-compatible between Xbox 360 and PS3 straight out of the box. You'll have to mod your stick using aftermarket PCBs that support multiple consoles/platforms. One popular PCB is the PS360+, which allows you to mod your stick a little easier than the others and offers compatibility with a ton of systems. I mention this because most tournaments will only have 360s... don't be that guy stuck walking around with PS3 stick. Or if you just want to keep things simple, then just buy an Xbox 360 version and a fight stick for the 360 -- done.

I had the original Street Fighter IV that came out. Then all of these new upgrades/versions came in the following years. I was tempted but I'm glad I waited until the end to purchase this most recent version. I'd suggest getting this if you haven't bought all of the previous versions (unless you really need to have this). For me, it was definitely worth it.

As for the game, it's just classic Street Fighter. As far as I can tell, all of the characters playable from the start. Completing all of the Training Challenges is still damn near impossible. I let my friends here play this all the time and they have a blast with this version.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 is an awsome game, LIke SSF4 and SSF4AE I play this game almost everyday, reason why I gave it a 3 and not 5 star is the fact that is does not come with new trials for the new characters that was added for AE and Ultra. I have the updated SSF4 to USF4 and had I known that I would not be getting trials, but costumes I would have never buy the hard copy, to me a waste of money!
