ED10 LTD Professional Headphones
Each Edition 10 is hand-made in Germany and offers open natural sound design without any limitations. It’s the perfect combination in technology and luxury. Materials of the highest quality have been chosen to encompass the latest developments in open-back sound technology.
Creating a complete new headphone design is always promising but Ultrasone has risen to that challenge and designed from the ground up an amazingly rich product, utilizing the best combination of superlative styling, finest materials, and sound technologies.
Included you will find a specifically designed Edition 10 headphone stand. The geometrical alignment has been transferred from the ear cup inlays to define the delicate shape. This stand is a piece of art. To complete this complementary styling, the stand is made of the same Zebrano wood as the clasps on the outer ear cups. This elegant stand secures a safe storage for the edition 10 headphones.
Of course, edition 10 is equipped with the latest technologies such as ULE-technology (Mu Metal shielding) and S-Logic Plus technology. This sophisticated new technology combines precision dampening with micro-acoustic reinforcement, allowing driver, buffer-board, and spatial parameters to complement one another in an optimal manner. So, the acoustically redesigned ear-cups of these new models and their tonal fine-tuning result in a most neutral sound impression with a more vivid perception of voices and instruments. The special cable with silver-plated oxygen-free copper and Aramid fiber endows the Edition 10 with greater electron flow, lower weight and a maximum of flexibility and durability.
Treat yourself with luxurious materials and advanced technologies to experience highest comfort in safer hearing and long pleasure with your music.
Top Customer Reviews
I also have Audeze LCD3, AKG702 and the Ed8. They do not come close in terms of fidelity and giving me the feeling of being there. It is like listening in 3D. The problem with fidelity is just that. The treble can sound harsh, painful and distorted, the bass can sound bloated etc. BUT only if that is what is on the recording. They disguise nothing. Give them a well engineered recording and they sound silky smooth and transparent from top to bottom.
Like most phones of this class the Ed10 need a good headphone amp to show their best but they still sound fine straight out of my AK240.
The only phones I have heard to match them are the Ed5 and they are closed back.
These headphones are a limited run of 2010 units. They've been out for nearly 2 1/2 years now. There's a reason they haven't sold out yet. And it's not the pricetag.
There are many headphones that this PoS can't even touch in terms of tonal quality (LCD-2), clarity (Tesla T1), and soundstage (HD800). There are also many much, MUCH cheaper alternatives for those phones, such as the HD600, or the DT1350.
To sum it all up, these are for people who want to show off their wealth and nothing more. And seriously, if you have this much money to throw away, just donate it to some sort of charity or invest in a REAL pair of headphones like the ones I mentioned. If you care about looks, all of them are quite amazingly crafted. Just please, for the love of God: Do not buy these headphones.
Priceless... If this isn't the prototypical audiophile vernacular, I don't know what is... Seriously though, one of my pops' childhood pals has a set of these, at their 50th high school reunion, he gave my pop a chance to hear them. Although he's half deaf from being in the military (and presumably listening to music way too loud), he was blown away with the richness and depth these provided.
So I thought I'd pick some up for him for his 65th. Amazon seems to be the place for high end headphones, DACs, and the like (especially if you want legit stuff with a warranty.) Even though I will presumably inherit these one day, :-) this is quite a chunk of change to drop on some cans considering you are paying the second $1k for about the last quarter of a percent of audio that the $500 cans can't quite deliver.
These look like pieces of art, like they belong on display in a museum (as opposed to 10 year old AKG's). If they sound half as good as they look, methinks they may be worth the size able investment.
