I got his one and have been listening to it non-stop.

Couple very good stand out items to note, yes, it is live. Also; note the title - Unblackened - These are a lot of the songs we all know and love some slower, more piano and some just live.

The production and sound quality is perfect. I usually hate live albums, There are less than 10 I actually like, this is at the top of my list now.

This is not your typical BLS album, But the truth be told, Zakk is not your typical musician. This just highlights how much the talent of Zakk and the boys can really shine.

I love this album and can't stop listening to it.

SDMF all the way! Texas Chapter

Filled primarily with previously recorded tracks "Unblackend" is rightly titled as the familiar tunes are slowed down, rearranged and given a new twist. Recorded live, aside from the crowd noise you would think it is studio the songs are so polished.

Several of the songs actually sound better in their unBLACKend form, 'Stillborn' for instance is a slowed tempo and primarily clean undistorted guitar but feels so much more soulful in the new timing. The solos are still as ferocious and sounding even more complex with the upfront guitar melody.

Former gems like Rust and Queen of Sorrow were always a slower tempo but now have a new take with the live performance. Sometimes a tune like Rust doesn't necessarily sound better than the studio, but it still excels in its new form.

"Unblackend" is a must get for a fan of BLS, but it is even a good entry album for newcomers with the collection of high quality songs and very catchy riffs. BLS and Ozzy fans already know what they are getting in Zakk's music, but if anything will dissuade a new fan it might be Zakk's vocals. Personally, I enjoy his mumbley, whiskey sounding vocals that complement his deep sounding play, sounding much like a cross between Ozzy's cadence and Lemmy Kilmister's drawl. But I can understand a fan of more clean and higher sounding vocals that you may hear in something like Train or Kings of Leon, this may not be the sound for them, but they should surely try. As for fans of Southern Hard Rock, Motorhead or Pantera, you need to hear this album.

Though I would much rather go to a show as listen to a live CD and imagine being there. I gotta say this is one of the better song line ups that I have seen come from the BLS stage show front. Overall it has a mellow Hangover Music feel to it and a great selection of songs from said disk (personally my favorite that he has done). It does a good job of floating between a mellow, chill out vibe and kicking it up a bit with some s*** the really rocks. But to anyone that really knows the earlier BLS stuff would truely appreciate is that the songs selected aren't all the radio killed stuff he's written. This cd really did remind me how great his early music was...will definatley be on the ipod for a while.

I really like Black Label Society and I thought I would like this C.D. more then I did. The songs are well known and the band sounded great, however who ever was in charge of recording this C.D. did not mix the singing by Zakk Wilde very good. His voice is always stron on otherof his C.D. but at time it seems to me on this C.D. his voice seems almost mumble to muted at times. I don't blame Zakk for this I blame the ones who recorded it.
Maybe in the future this C.D> can be remastered and cleaned up to actually know what Zakk is singing. Caution those who choose to buy this one, it could have been recoreded much better then it was.

Black Label Society is one of the best rock bands around (in my top ten...maybe my top five). This album proves it's not because of great producers. In the studio or live...amped-up or acoustic...they are always great.

I kind of wish that Wylde's language wouldn't go south here and there...but, let's be serious, one can't expect church lady behavior out of a group that looks like a biker gang.

But, boy, can this biker gang play guitar!

Although a change from BLS regular heavy stuff, this CD is very good and the kind of CD where the more you listen to it the more you want to hear it, never tiring. I am impressed and am looking forward to getting Catocombs from the Black Vatican. : )

I love BLS, hard and soft, but I can admit when they make a misstep. I was under the impression that this was going to be an awesome acoustic based album with orchestral backround music, but it seemed to be mostly just an acoustic gig for BLS. It's not bad, but it doesn't stand out well. I prefer every other live album they've done rather than this one.

I really loved this cd.I saw the concert on tv one evening and they blew me away. The only dissapointment for me was when the cd came it was cracked so that made me so mad because i wanted to gift this to my son because he is a self taught guitarist and really good can play anything so you can understand the dissapointment as this was my first Black Label purchase so why bother reporting it or trying to send it back shippers don't care so anyway will not buy through the mail again i think not but good muisic.Hope this helps.
