Uncaged starts with some happy news for Greg Cage and his wife Melissa. After a very difficult year they finally have something to look forward to – Melissa is pregnant. Cage has to deal with Melissa’s pregnancy hormones, finding privacy with a four year old in the house, and the unexpected news that they’re having twins. But Cage can handle it all with style until life throws him a curve ball that may just take it all away.
If you read Cage and Melissa’s original story, then you already love Greg Cage. But now you get to see him as a family man, and if possible, you will love him even more. There is nothing sexier than a man who is able to show his love for his family. The scenes with Cage and Cohen just melted my heart.
In fact, I think that four year old Cohen may just have won the hearts of women everywhere. Even at his tender young age, he displays the heart and soul of an alpha man. His desire to be strong for his family and protect his girls brought me to my knees. I can’t wait to watch Cohen grow up. He is going to be a lady killer just like his dad.
Be prepared for a gut wrenching emotional roller coaster. Ms. Sloan is a master at toying with your emotions and knowing which strings to pull to change you from happiness to sadness and back again. You will definitely need the box of tissues close by, but some of those tears will be happy tears.
As if all of this wasn’t enough to make you pick up Uncaged, we are also treated to the wonder that is the rest of the Corps Security men. These men have created their own family and they are there for each other through it all. I was so excited to get more information about my personal favorite, Maddox, and if I wasn’t already head over heels in love with him I certainly would have been after his conversations with Cohen.
Uncaged is not a stand alone. It is a part of the Corps Security series and you need to have read the entire series in order to benefit from reading Uncaged. And I heartily recommend you do read the whole series. After all, if Ms. Sloan can put this much emotion into a novella, imagine what she can do with a full-length novel.
Who gives you exactly what you need in a book?
Who can write a Novella, a fing short novella and make you so fing happy you have goose-bumps all over your body?
Who makes you cry and feel way to fing much while reading that you have to step away from your iPad because you can't see the words from all the tears?
Who has written the best Novella I have ever read in the history of Novellas?
That is right folks, Harper has written pure gold. This book is 100%, complete and utter brilliance. It has everything you want, everything you need and so much more. You won't be able to put it down. You won't be able to stop. It will leave you gasping for air and screaming and wishing you could strangle Mrs. Sloan. But she always delivers a happy ending (in more ways than one )
I didn't want it to end. That's the worst thing about an amazing novella. There isn't enough of it. But I'm a selfish when it comes to Harper's writing. I never want her books to end. EVER.
It wasn't rushed and it wasn't drawn out. IT WAS PERFECTION. TRIFECTA PERFECTION.
You would think that after 3 amazingly brilliant books that she wouldn't be able to surprise the heck out of me. Harper Sloan will always be able to blow my mind with her words.
I am not sure how she does it. She has created a whole other world for me and I get lost in it every darn time. I love how she can write an amazing Alpha, switch to an amazing strong women and write the cutest darn kid in the world. And lets not forget Maddox Locke. OMG
SWOON ALERT. SWOON ALERT.
Attention all readers. There is a massive swoon alert in progress. You won't know when, you won't see it coming, but when it happens, the swooning will be off the fing charts. So please, keep the hysteria to a minimum and proceed with caution. To much swooning can result in hyper sex drives, un-planned pregnancy and the possibility of a double AA battery shortage. Make sure to have enough lube on hand and be prepared for a very long night. Don't say we didn't warn you. Also, you may need a box of tissues for the tears, but they are also quite handy for clean up after.
I had a book hangover from a fing NOVELLA. Someone please explain to me how that happens. It doesn't seem possible. There aren't enough words in a novella to make you so consumed that you can't move on. BUT SHE DID THAT TO ME. I couldn't move on, I was stuck in the corp security office with the gang and I am not complaining.
Who writes the most amazing epilogues of all epilogues ever?
you know it, HARPER SLOAN.
Excited for the next addition
Oh and I hope the epilogue means we get a book for Cohen
