"Uncertain Trumpet" Still Sounds a Compelling Note

This is a basic book for politicalmilitary experts. Although rooted in the 1960s, it has existential value for today with the armed forces facing contractions and restructuring. Taylor had just finished a tour as Army Chief of Staff when he wrote it, and his struggles with his senior military colleagues over the directions for U.S. armed forces are revealing.
