After I read this book I felt like someone took my own head and shook out all the good thoughts and ideas (only more!) and put it on paper. I've read this book and will read it many more times. My Son will read this book when he gets of age, and I will teach him much of what is in this book throughout the years. This book will help you learn how to grab your own life by the balls and be in full control in all areas, while enjoying the journey to the fullest. FWIW I'm happily married for 13 years with the most incredible life I could imagine. Because I designed it that way years ago.
Most people don't design their lives, they're too busy thinking they have to "make a living".
Most people need drama in their lives. Most people think they can't live without problems. Most people wouldn't know what true happiness is in their own lives if it fell off a building and hit them on the head. Most won't heed the advice in this book. But it doesn't matter what Most will do. All that matters is what YOU will do.
It resembles The Four-Hour Workweek in a way - it's about constructing your life to maximize freedom and happiness while living how you choose. There are even a few chapters that specifically tell you how to find your personal code of conduct and goals, and how to begin developing a life mission.
It is also more comprehensive than The Four-Hour Workweek - it covers not only business, but also relationships, outdated biological forces, negative social influences, the seven key areas of self-improvement, and so forth.
The relationships segment is the most significant aspect of the book, in my opinion. It strongly encourages men to be confident and independent and form relationships at their will, while also advocating honesty and genuine love.
The content is a mixture of theory and practical information, providing a background on why certain mindsets/actions are necessary and then how to construct yourself and your life to attain them. I particularly enjoyed his idea of happiness as largely practical - rather than it being a vague, philosophical concept, he lays down exactly how to achieve it with action (and some helpful mindsets, as well).
Lastly, it is a very unconventional book... but that's exactly WHY it works. It took some of my assumptions about relationships/society/etc. and thoroughly explained why they are mutually incompatible with happiness and freedom. Definitely a unique perspective that I welcomed - a lot of self-improvement information out there is too coy to explicitly reject certain mainstream advice, even when it obviously doesn't work in reality. This book doesn't have this problem at all. Highly recommended.
The info in here is GOLDEN! From starting a business, to handling your dating life and more, this book is a blueprint on how to radically free your life. It contains plenty of practical advice, but the best thing about this book is the section where he covers how to develop your Code and Mission. Those chapters alone are worth twice the price of the book!
Buy this book now! Seriously! It's $20 that can radically change your life for the better!
