- Survival romance
- A chillingly brilliant foe
- And scorching, brain-melting heat despite the freezing Alaska setting
Stranded together in a frozen wilderness, there's nowhere left to run...
Hotshot pilot Leo Eddowes is afraid of nothing and no one. So when she's asked to evacuate a man from the wilds of Alaska, she doesn't hesitate. But with enemies in close pursuit and the weather turning sour, what should have been a simple mission quickly shifts to disaster.
And there's only one way out.
When Elias Thorne disappeared, he was America's most wanted. Now he's spent more than a decade in one of the most remote places on earth, guarding a dangerous secret. Leo's arrival, quickly followed by a team of expert hunters, leaves him no choice but to join forces with her―and run. Neither is prepared for their reluctant partnership to flare into something as wild and untamed as the frozen world around them...but as desperately cold days melt into scorchingly hot nights, Leo and Elias must learn to dig deep, trust in each other, and forge a bond as strong as the forces of nature.

You guys when I tell you that this book gave me chills and had me yelling in the middle of my office like a banshee, I am not lying to you! I could not keep my composure at all with this one! The suspense, the writing, the characters--the chemistry! I honestly was enthralled the entire way through. Leo and Elias and their fury companion were so much fun and had such an interesting dynamic when they were brought together. I fell hard for this duo who through forced proximity (you gotta love mother nature for that) had to face the secrets they were holding inside, as well as both learning to depend on someone other than themselves for the first time in a long time.
But above all else, my favorite character in the entire story would have to be Amka. A firecracker in every sense of the word, we must protect her at all costs! Fiercely loyal, independent, and determined to never let her age stop her. Amka is what I aspire to be when I grow up. I absolutely adored every single scene she was in and I loved watching her in her element trying to save her town and those she loved. It was truly a wild ride watching Amka do her thing and I desperately want more of her in the series!
A survival romance to rival all survival romances, Uncharted is a scorching hot and fast paced romance that will leave you breathless as you dive deeper into the rough terrain of Alaska's wilderness. Like I said before, I highly recommend this book to everyone and anyone who wants to dive into some good romantic suspense or just wants a great adventure. Adriana Anders nails that and more with this book and I am already begging for the next one!
MOST of the time, these two are frighteningly committed to making horrifying situations work for them. The wrecking crew part comes in when one of them gets put in danger. Then they go off the rails. Elias especially. The guy did not do well when Leo's life was endangered.
But that's only part of the story. The tip of the iceberg, if you will. Because they're on the run from some very bad people and staying alive in an environment that keeps throwing more and more dangerous roadblocks at them has them utilizing every darn one of their survival skills. Knowing that if they get caught those very bad people will do very bad things with the information they're carrying can be very motivating.
Throw in a boatload of sexual tension (I'm not kidding! Elias getting ramped up over otherwise innocent touches was WOW), a new (possibly even more compelling) reason for the virus Leo and her crew are after to be found, and an old lady who almost single-handedly takes out a bunch of bad guys ('never underestimate the elderly' is going to be my new motto) and there's a whole lot going on here. I mean that in a good way. Elias and Leo were steamin' and I am SO here for whatever danger the crew gets thrown into next!
-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal
Leo is in Alaska on a mission. She’s trying to find a scientist whom it believes has a viral sample that people are willing to die for. Or, at least, kill everyone for. She’s feels like she’s on a wild chase until she gets a break on her target. Never mind she’s coming off of food poisoning, she’s an ex-elite soldier who has to keep moving. She’s just not expecting to fly an ancient plane and to get shot out of the sky!
Elias has been living on the run in the farthest of far stretches of Alaska. Life has not been kind but he’s got his survival training, military instincts and his dog. All goes awry when a plane he recognizes crashes by his house and he knows it can’t be good.
Neither Leo or Elias trust each other and for very good reason. And yet, they realize that they’ll have to find some baseline level of understanding to survive the terrain and the mercenaries hired to kill them. And while Leo is a strong, capable black woman and Elias was considered the archetype All-American white man who is assumed dead and accused of treachery and murder, they realize that not everything is what it seems and trust is necessary to not die!
Alaska is the perfect backdrop for this book. The descriptions of the location, scenery and chaos act as an additional character. It also serves as a foil to the hardness of Leo and Elias and allows them to seek comfort and warmth in each other.
I remember reading a small snippet of this book in book 1 and I was hooked. I can’t wait to hear more about these groups of people and the individuals who manage to steal their hearts.
