The story starts out strong, setting up the scene for the bank heist and ends even better with a couple surprise twists. The plot its self is pretty much what you'd anticipate from a movie, TV show or book of this genre, with the expected few holes in the story here and there, but all in all a good suspense none the less.
My only issue with UNCOMMON THIEF, was somewhere in the middle when the story started to lag a bit. Manchee lost me a little with the extensive flashback stories and memories. I know these remembrances' were meant to give credit to the protagonist's character as a standup honorable guy; but for me, they lacked real importance to the story, kind of dragged on and I found myself skimming over them.
In my opinion, The UNCOMMON THIEF is a good read for any fan of the crime and mystery genre and one that I'd recommend.
I found Uncommon Thief to be a fairly good book. The protagonist, Fred Fuller, was definitely a three dimensional character with strengths and weaknesses. He faces some tough choices and makes mistakes, to which everyone can relate.
There were a few things I didn't like about the book. Fred's girlfriend, Maria, seems too good to be true. The flashbacks were too long and not completely necessary to further the storyline. Still, it's an entertaining story.
