Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Hot times in Atlanta, Ga., keep the third installment of Morrison's erotic Honey Diaries blazing, as newly empowered Honey Thomas (formerly known as Lace) turns the tables on some seriously nasty kidnappers. Guns a-blazing, Honey manages to escape from her former pimp, Valentino James, and his dim sidekick, Benito (Honey's former flame), only to hitch a ride with a serial rapist and murderer. After learning of Honey's misadventures, her outrageous bisexual pal, tough Vegas cop Tiffany Davis (I loved arresting men more than having sex with them) rides to the rescue. Honey's girls, former escorts she's taken under her wing, also pitch in, but soon ex-stripper Red Velvet takes Honey's place as hostage. Morrison milks the overheated plot for all it's worth, dishing up one problem after another before readers can even catch their breath; unfortunately, the cascade of cliffhangers, while entertaining, makes the neatly wrapped happy ending all the more abrupt and unbelievable. Honey, curled in a fetal position with her gun aimed on Benito's head, is kidnapped and stuffed in the open trunk of Valentino's truck. The first chapter picks up exactly where Who's Loving You ended. Suspense, disappointment, shock, anger, sadness, happiness, and hopefulness are just a few of the feelings and sensations Mary B Morrison takes us through on this journey. So many outrageous twists and turns happen and you will undoubtedly have compassion and sympathy for the people you least expect. Jada and her family from Mary B Morrison's Soulmates Series, makes an appearance in this book and quickly become permanent fixtures. Sadly we see a whole new side of Mrs. Jada Diamond Tanner and she seems a bit different and a lot less likable then she was when we used to know her. Actually, it seems that most of the characters we grew fond of in this series and in the Soulmates Series switched places with the ones I disliked immensely. Very interesting to say the least.

After wreaking havoc and causing major unforgettable mayhem in people's lives, many of the characters turn over a new leaf and seem to have become better people but is that just an act? Have you ever watched a movie or read a book where the main character does the one thing you didn't want them to do? Or picks the wrong significant other for themself for whatever reason? Well that is how I felt reading this book. If this was a movie I would have been screaming at the screen for the characters to make the right choices. It feels very dissimilar and almost like a betrayal when the characters you feel you know make such out of pocket decisions.

I was very, very, very dissapointed in the book. The story line was awful. When I bought the book I was so excited to get home and read it, knowing it extends from the last two series. However I was so bored I had to put the book down. It took me 3 weeks to bring myself to try to finish it. Low and behold when I finally got to the end I felt betrayed, because I was hoping that this will be the end of Honey/Lace torture; instead I got this.....NOTHING!!!!! Going right back to the beginning where the story first started.
Come on Morrison the other one better be blast....

I loved how Honey matured and all she wanted to do was help other women in need. I hated Jada. She was jealous and bitter. She looks down on others. She does not have a good heart. Now onto Darius Jones

I gave this book 4 stars because to me the ending was rushed. I don't see a reason for another this should've ended here in this book. I hated the ending. Just when the story was getting good there goes the confusing ending.

I really didn't like how it ended. Grant has some serious issues himself. Too many times his bottom head thought for him. Jada come on this woman was more of a mother type and I really believe Grant was on the rebound and usually when a person is on the rebound from a relationship they make mistakes in the next one. I also believed that Jada had run an investigation on everyone associated with Grant because there were parts that she mentioned things about Honey/family/friends that there was no way she could know unless she hired a private investigator. I have no doubt that Jada took the babies out of spite because she was desperate to keep Grant and knowing she was old she would be feeling insecure about losing Grant especially to Honey with the twins. But please tell me what the hell was this old broad thinking when her old butt took the babies and whom the hell would take care of the babies since she rarely is bothered with her own grand child? And that was wild how Valentino & Honey fell for each other. They did have a lot in common and thought very similar when it came to various aspect of their lives and survival. A great read just wondering if there will be another sequel to this? I hope so because I would love to see Honey get her babies back.

Having read the two previous books; Sweeter Than Honey & Who's Loving You, I was pumped and really excited about reading this latest installment. Sweeter Than Honey really took me a minute to get into, and I was left with a feeling of 'Oh well, maybe the next one will be better'. Then I read Who's Loving You, and it was so hot, I could hardly put it down. I have to admit along with many others before me, Unconditionally Single was definitely not what I expected, and it left a lot to be desired.

Being a self-published author who hopes to be in the likes of authors like Ms. Morrison, and other notables, I guess that makes me much more critical of books that I read. Honesty has got to be the best policy here.

I thought the book was poorly written for such a seasoned author. It was so convoluted that I found myself, on several occasions, ready to toss the book into my 'I'll get to that one later' pile. It if were not for the fact that I ride the train to work every day, and had absolutely nothing else to read, I would have stopped reading after the first couple of chapters.

The content was all over the place. The kidnapping scenario could have been thought out a little better, and the 'Who's Jonesing Who?' escapades were really working my nerves. It wasn't until the final chapter that I really started cracking up, and was at a point where I couldn't read each line quick enough before I got to the epilogue.

And then that's when the crickets started rubbing their forewings together.............. WHAT? That's it? I did not like the cliff hanger ending at all. Ms. Morrison has already established her fan base, so any books that come after this one will be read regardless, but it sure would be nice if the next book 'knocks it out the park'.
