I originally purchased this book when it was with a different publisher and I purchased the re-released version. Every time I read it I find something new and fall in love with these characters all over again. You could read this book as a stand alone, but you'll get more enjoyment out of it if you read the 1st in the series, Unsurpassed, first.
Some of my favorite lines:
**"For all of Drew's silence, he's a motor mouth at home."**
**"Love is an addiction you'll do anything to feed."**
**There was no low he wouldn't stoop to in order to have her...**
**"I'm no one's gentle lover."**
**"I watch you. When you're not looking. You don't notice me, but I'm there."**
I love this author's books. She has the ability to write some hot stories, but more than that, she writes characters that the reader can connect to. That is what keeps me reading these books.
You know the writing is good when you're not sure which of the 2 brothers you want to win the girl. Gah, I really liked Rhys. And then OY, I really liked Knox. (Can't wait until the next book in the series.)
Like with a lot of Charity Parkerson books, I feel like there are parts of the story that I am missing. Like background from a prior book (but I have not missed any yet, I don't think) or details the characters are just not explicitly saying. But even though I get a little confused, it never stops me from getting the next book she writes. The emotions she writes feel so real. SO REAL.
This book has a bunch of funny lines, and some super hot moments!
There is something that I have to share that does bug me, no matter how great the plot or how clever the dialogue. Authors using phrases that are incorrect really bugs me and it's a distraction. Examples from this book: some crazy STRAND of a new disease. It's a STRAIN not a strand. Another is: His gaze homed in on....it's supposed to be HONED in on.... These mistakes bug the English major in me but they are not enough to turn me off from the book or the author!
