Review

From Obsession with Books
"I loved this book and can't wait to read the next installment in the Woodlands series, the characters, storyline and gushing romance were all wonderfully written and Jen Frederick's writing is extremely engaging - she is definitely an author to remember and this is a book I'm more than happy to add to my favourites list!"

From Craves the Angst
"Noah Jackson was perfect in every way! He was compassionate, considerate and sexy as hell! His old school values mixed with his slight debauchery made him a perfect alpha male and you can't help but adore every part of his character."

From Nocturnal Book Reviews
"Undeclared was genuinely a lovely debut book. I was craving something comforting when I started reading it, and what I got was a big fluffy pillow of a sweet love story...Wonderful, lovely book, and I wholly recommend you read it."

This book is written in duel POV. The book itself was ok. I had a really hard time getting into it. I didn't really connect with the characters and I found Grace very annoying at times. The writing style was good and the plot was fine. It was your simple boy and girl fall in love, something happens, then they find their way back to each other. There wasn't a lot of drama involved and knew they would eventually find their HEA. I don't know if it's because I've read so many of this type of book lately or if I'm just growing tired of reading at the moment but I just found myself skimming...a lot. This book had a "Beautiful Disaster" feel to it only much more on the safe side of writing.

Grace is coasting her way through life. She's in her 2nd year of college and still can't choose a major. She is a really great photographer but to scared to make anything of it. She doesn't date because she's in love with the Marine she spent high school writing to. With him no longer in the picture she still can't move on. She's pretty with long brown hair, hazel eyes, and curves.

Noah is a retired Marine from the wrong side of the tracks. He spent his entire enlistment writing to a girl he's never met while falling in love with her. He's in college and he's an up and coming MMA fighter. He's had a hard transition from soldier to civilian which is why he sent the "Dear John" letter to Grace. He wanted to be worthy and whole for her. He's beautiful. Built like a fighter but not the bad boy most fighters are. He knows who he wants and he's willing to do what has to be done to get her. He's got dark brown hair, and a tattoo. He's polite and well mannered.

This was definitely a love story for older teens or young adult readers, not for me. Poorly developed characters and plot lines. Nothing too substantial happening here. Drinking, bad language, sex. A little moralizing about said drinking, bad language, sex. That's it.

It sounded like a great story, but it was soooo very slow and about nothing. Not sure what book those that gave praising reviews read, but it wasn't the same book I read! Basically the book was about a girl that couldn't make up her mind and in the end she did, by declaring her major. That's all I got out of this. The author lost my interest by dragging things and not giving me something to look forward too. A lot of characters were thrown in, but I just didn't develop any sort of emotion towards them do to lack of development. I wanted to get to know them, but everything seemed just out of reach and to drag. What I did get, wasn't enough to get me to buy the next book or read this author again. Nothing interest happened, not good or bad. I fell asleep twice and was woken up when my Kindle hit me in the face! Not a good thing.

Abby's Review 3 stars

The premise for this story is very unique and it is what drew me into read this. Grace in high school writes a soldier for years. When he gets out he pretty much writes her off. Two years later she is in college, has spent years trying to not think of Noah and then poof there he is.

There are flashbacks of their letters together through out the story. The letters and the way they tied into the plot was flawless. It would have been nice however if the letters showed a bit more of the love connection.

I liked this book. I did however think that there was a little too much thrown into the story. I could have done without the fighting and I could have done without the yogurt store. I was unsure of what grace really looked like. I got images of what her self image was, but it was hard for me to tell if she was really a heavy girl or if she just thought of herself that way.

In general I like a story that has a lot going on. However I did start to feel like maybe there was a little to much going on.

Despite this I was intrigued enough through out the whole story. I found Noah to be steamy. He has a fun side to his personality. I liked his banter with his guy friends.

Grace for me was slightly irritating that she was so unsure of herself. I wish that she started to figure out that a man couldn't make or break her a lot sooner. I did like the heat between Noah and Grace.

I liked the premise of this story but it left a lot of questions unanswered and the way the book ended was abrupt that I didn't even know the story had already ended!

Story had potential but I did not feel like Grace and Noah belonged together. She is 19 and he is 23 after all and the age gap was quite obvious here.

The best part was this kindle book was offered free on Amazon.

Where to begin.... this book was all kinds of bad. I didn't feel the chemistry, I didn't feel the passion, I didn't feel the love...
They were such a blah couple. I found myself skimming the pages to skip over all the boring...

I'm trying to find something positive to say but sadly I really can't.

Noah was not my kind of book boyfriend. The book didn't portray him in a really good book boyfriend light. He was a wee bit dull.... even making him an MMA fighter was dull. Dull Dull Dull

Grace was just....a complete bore. she had no personality to me.

This was just. .. bad
