My favorite Sock (so far)!

My shoe size is 9.5-10. The socks in the "Large" category for that shoe size were too big and loose fitting. So I ordered a Medium size which was a perfect fit for me! The socks are very comfortable a size smaller and aren't too tight. They fit perfectly. These are great socks especially for runners, hikers or long distance walkers. The fabric is thin at the top of the lower toe area which allows sweat to escape the sock and helps to keep your feet dry. These socks are designed to prevent slipping inside the shoes as well. I don't remember experiencing any slipping, so I guess they're working as far as that goes. One thing I'm highly disappointed in however is the durability of the fabric in a part of the sock that doesn't get worn or stepped on or scraped against. There's an area that's VERY prone to tear where the point of the gray fabric meets the black fabric at the heal on both sides of the sock. I don't know why or how, but so far, 3 pairs out of 12 pairs of socks have been damaged to the point that I can't wear them anymore. This might be a design flaw.

Pros: As long as you get a size down from your shoe size, they'll fit snug and will be very comfortable. They also look good in skater shoes and low ankle Vans and Convers shoes as well. They help sweat to escape by the see-through fabric on top of the toe area and they prevent slipping inside shoes to allow for better performance when running or other sports that require balance and stamina.

Cons: The sizing isn't very good. Medium is for shoe size 4-8.5, but my shoe size is 9.5-10 and the medium socks fit perfectly. The large socks don't fit me and are too long and too loose for me. There may be a sewing or design defect on the sides of the socks where the point of the gray fabric meets the black fabric as the fabric is prone to large holes in that one area.

Overall: I'll continue buying more of these socks in a smaller size despite the possible sewing or design defect as the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

I have used Under Armour socks for like the past 10 years, and the last ones I bought lasted me an incredibly long time, I loved them. These ones, however, seem to be quite different.

After having read many of the reviews for these socks to make the best choice about what size to get (I wear 10-10.5 size shoes), I decided to get the Large size. Well, they fit, but they're definitely a lot more snug then I expected. Whatever, they still fit.

Here's what pissed me off: the first sock I tried to put on ripped. THE FIRST ONE!! I was appalled, but not terribly surprised because I did read other reviews saying these socks were not very durable, but decided to risk it anyways. I've had them for about two weeks now, and no more have ripped, but I've been extremely careful when putting them on since.

I tried to contact Under Armour about the ripped sock, no response. Not very good customer service.

If you have a lot of money to blow on comfy socks that won't last too long, feel free to give these a try, but I think I'm going to start looking for another brand to go with.

UPDATE: 9.16.13 (about two weeks after receiving them)
Under Armour's customer service did finally get back to me about the ripped sock (it took them five days - so a little on the lengthy side, in my opinion) and they sent me a replacement six-pack of socks as accommodation. Oddly enough the replacement actually arrived TODAY, so maybe it just took them a long time to send an email back. For solving the problem, I will bump up my rating from 2 to 4 stars. I have yet to see how long these socks last in the long run (other reviews don't have me too hopeful), so I will try to keep this updated, but so far I can tell you that they're waaay more comfortable than my previous socks.

My son is a tad picky about the socks. If you aren't bothered by the "toe lump" someone you know probably is so you have to know what I'm talking about. But worse, boys these days are all into brand name, even (especially) their socks. My son owns a LOT of expensive, insert other athletic name brand here, socks. But they're cotton. Not only does the thickness give them a prominent toe ridge but it seems to get worse as they shrink and bulk in every wash. My son is also a runner and the running shoe people recommended non cotton socks so they don't wick when running in this heat. Hmm, I always thought cotton was better because of breathability. So I started looking at "performance" socks. $5-$10 for 1 pair, and man I thought the ones he had now we're expensive.

What else to do? Amazon has everything. So in my searching I came across these socks. Not cotton, check. Name brand, check. Not ridiculously priced, check. And it certainly didn't hurt that it came in a pack bigger than 2 or 3. I guess if he won't wear them his sister will.

These socks are GREAT. They're not very thick, they're decently (but not overly) soft and the ridge is minimal. No more morning struggles. It does have a toe ridge but nothing bothersome. It's been several washes and they still have their shape, size, and minimal ridge. He's been wearing them to run and no foot complaints. Since they're name brand he doesn't try to wear his uncomfortable name brand socks just to have name brand. But they're comfy so no struggles. And they're cheaper than his previous socks, I think I hit the jackpot. And here I was worried about ordering socks I could feel first.

I have mixed feelings about these socks. I bought them with hope that they'd help stop my feet from sweating. They haven't made any difference when comparing to the $12 Costco puma socks.

They feel a bit tighter than I'd like. I guess the benefit to that would be that they won't fall down in boots. I'm a size 10 and ordered the large. They look nice too.
