George is finally ready to face his fear and confront James. He hopes that the card he leaves for him will do the trick in letting James know how he feels.
Can they be together or will business dealings tear them apart.
I loved being able to have this as a full story and not just snippets. While my reviews are normally longer it’s not possible to do with this book without giving anything major away.
But between the love story and the smoking hot sex this is another great Doris O’Connor book.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the background characters, namely James' sister, Kenna, and brother-in-law, Alex. Ok, so I was thrilled when I found out their names, but even if they were different, I'd have still loved them. They provided a lot of humor to the story, and Kenna's fierce protection of her brother was endearing. Their New Year's Eve party was one that I would just love to be invited to.
All in all, "Under His Boss" was a perfect read. It wasn't too long. It wasn't too heavy. It was just the best way to send me off to sleep with dreams of two wonderful men, their family, and their delightful love story.
While the author is a pro at bringing the hot and steamy - and she definitely does, I love how sweet this is. Two people...existing, each longing for the other, without a clue as to their true feelings. Sex isn't the real goal or even the focus. Can they build something lasting together?
James and George are both quite likable. They want what we all search for at one time or another - that special person who holds your heart. I felt bad for George, who'd lived his life so conservative and closeted. You could almost feel the tension leave his body as he saw how accepting James' family was of James and his lifestyle. But then, that family is full of some unique lifestyles - HA!
Loved Kenna and Alex - good support, and great comic relief! George senior may have made a mess of things with the business, but he had a choke hold on my heart at the end. Tissues were involved.
My only sore spot? George's pampered, narcissistic, shrew of a fiance is named Felicia! Really, Doris? Really? She is horribly vile, and you will hate her (AND her father) before you even meet her. GOOD villainous qualities!
Not sure what genre the author has this in, but for me, it's a love story - pure and simple. You will love it!
(I was gifted an ecopy of "Under His Boss" by the author during a book party in May 2015.)
