Under A Sanguine Moon is the starter in the series of House Vantasyl. You get to know the people involved, the backdrop, the treachery within, and even some questions to be answered ion the later books. This is, after all, the first one. Some of those in here are on the side of good and the bad ones, you get the picture. Few elements are truly enthralling with the simple telling of a story destined to go wherever Travis Simmons takes it in a later volumes. Those looking for extreme action may not like this, so be aware of that.
I highly recommend this to anyone searching for a fresh take on classic vampire mythology, though vampires aren't the only supernatural creatures presented; the Vantasyl family are just one of several clans keeping the city safe from all manner of vampires, ghouls, werewolves, and other creatures who roam the night.
Overall, there was so much to be loved about this book that I can promise you won't be disappointed, and I personally can't wait to dive into the sequels whenever they're released.
