I’m so happy the author went the direction she did during this book. I find myself siding with Molly sometimes-in her quest for revenge. I admire how protective Larissa was, and supportive of Molly’s decision to go after everyone that hurt her. I know at times Lara was questioning helping Molly, and especially after Jillian came into the picture, which was a genuine concern.
This is definitely an amazing second chance love story. After so many years a part, and several outside forces wanting to keep them away from each other, Mark and Lara must come to terms with fighting for each other so that they can stay together. I felt as though this was truly a very suspenseful novel, and I was enraptured by every character this author created. I felt Mark’s dedication to his family through each and every time his heart was left alone. He was by far my favorite character.
Tia has truly outdone herself-this is a wonderfully written series and a must read for any romance lover! - By Victoria
This book picks up 5 years after the firat book. This book has more of a modern feel to me. Molly is all about vengence in this book. She is bound and determined to get everybody that hurt her from the first book. Lara feeling like Molly's mother says she will help. Even though she is only a few years older then Molly. She does run into Mark and their chemistry is still hot and heavy. She actually says she'll marry him but then runs away with Molly to find Gavin. Lara doesn't want to bring Mark into it because it would ruin his career. Lara is such a loyal person and you see that in this book. She is willing to do anything for the people she loves. Mark has finally became a detective and understands why Lara is doing what she is. After he found her in France and they rekindled their romance he thought everything was smooth sailing. Lol. There are alot of steamy scenes in this book and has some action in it. I am happy to say you find out what happened to Mark's uncle. I'm going to say there has to be a 3rd book. Although this has a some what HEA I feel as if some things are left unanswered. 4 stars - By Mandi
Mark finds Lara only to lose her again. When he finds her once more he also meets his baby girl and the vow he makes to keep them both safe is sealed in his heart. As they battle against the past and try to find closure they are not always in agreement. Molly’s agenda causes some friction between her and Lara that adds to Lara’s troubles as well. Through it all this couple grow closer and stronger learning to depend on each other.
There is a lot of action in this story as they seek out the ones who can still hurt them. These outside sources ratchet the angst up to extreme levels. I never knew what these characters were going to be walking into next. Along the way they gain additional support from Armand who seems to have an interesting backstory and I wonder if we’ll see his book one day.
Watching Mark with Jillian was swoon worthy as he immediately falls in love with his baby girl. Who doesn’t love to see a big bad dude going soft over a baby? I enjoyed the bit of lightheartedness that was added as Roland seemed to have the magic touch, or so he said, when it came to Jilly.
I loved that this couple get the HEA after so many years of despair and heartache. Now to just keep an eye on Ms. Molly and her interesting way of helping others who have suffered as she has.
Tia Louise is one of today's best story tellers and this series puts her at the top with Nora Roberts and other like authors. I would love to see a movie coming!!
Now, to Under the Stars. This is the conclusion of the series and what a roller coaster ride it was from start to finish. Lara, Mark and Molly are still twisted in the dark world of revenge and redemption. So many questions still remain unanswered and no one can rest until ghosts and the living give up their secrets.
I've loved all the well written main characters and supporting characters of this story. I've felt their emotions deeply and followed them through some horrific trauma in their lives.
While this series is dark, it has it's beauty and a beautiful love story with Mark and Lara. I so loved the ending!!! Mark is a white knight in the best sense and Lara truly his damsel in distress. Its not a fairytale, but I'd put this story up as one of the best written and told that I've read in a long time - if ever.
I was given an ARC of this book and my thoughts are my own.
It will captivate you right off the bat. It's not bad enough that they've been through hell and back in UTL they are never free to live their life's without the past coming back to haunt them. And Molly wants everyone who had anything to do with their pain to pay. Lara wanted to keep her safe as did Mark.
Ok saying to much. Just know this book will freaking (sorry) blow you away.
How Tia blends Mark's new job with what Lara and Molly are doing is a masterpiece. You'll be knocked off your feet. You will love this heart wrenching, emotional, terrifying, nail biting ride this book takes you on.
Can't wait for Molly's story in Hit Girl.
