Like many other readers, I was rooting for Pinks. And Scarlett. And I loved the secondary romances and other little details that normally would annoy me in a romance.
The disappointment in this book is how LITTLE of Scarlett and Pinks we get and how overly sexual their relationship is (compared to Brooks/Lolly and Vance/Piper who made a point of holding out as their relationship deepened, which I prefer). It wasn't overly convincing that two people who were attracted to each other but only saw each othera few times (mainly to have sex when they did) would be that deeply in love and sure of it enough to fight for it.
That said, I really looooved the ending - how it all came together and I don't wanna spoil it...but this book made every character in the book that much more human and endearing... And it made me realize that Liz Kelly's genius is exactly that. She makes characters u hate become ones u love. Pinks and Tansy in book 1? Who knew you would fall in love with them? Even Vance was annoying in book 1. I can't wait for the next installment in the series and am hoping for a quickie/novella before long!
Reading Underdog ( or any of Liz's books ) is time well spent!
Liz Kelly has drawn me into The Pinks world and did not disappoint for a second with his story. Worth the wait. Now, time to give us the scoop on Mr. Hero "that doesn't need a cape" Wrong!
