I'm going to start off saying that I can't say this is the best metal cd of the year, mostly because I'm stoked for Devil Wears Prada new one, but I am going to say its one of the best hardcore cds I've ever listened to. It ranks up there with A Day to Remember's Homesick, or For Those Who Have Heart. Its heavy, yet when it is soft its makes the perfect moments in the cd. I have been listening to these guys since Dreams (their EP) and its awesome to hear them grow with each cd. So if you like hardcore, pretty deep meaningful lyrics and just amazing music in general, this cd is for you.

After first listening to WCAR's Dreams EP, I didn't like the singing. After listening to it a few times, they shortly became my favorite band. I got To Plant A Seed for Christmas the year it came out, and I loved it, and they stayed my favorite band. After listening to the Amazon Samples of Understanding What We've Grown To Be, I thought that a lot of the songs seemed like any other band. After listening to the CD, I realized how wrong I was. This is one of the most amazing CDs I've ever heard, and I'm completely happy that I bought it. Go out and buy it and support them. They're DEFINITELY my favorite band and it will stay that way. I'd give it 100 stars if I could.

I listened to the previews of most of the songs on here and they sounded great. Then when I bought the album and listened to the full tracks it seemed like a different album. I might have been mistaken as I was previewing a lot of albums that day, but the actual album is much less intense than the previews. I would have killed for this album in Middle School 15 years ago but I thought I was purchasing something with more bite to it.

20 words minimum. What's the max? Hell, I could talk about his album all day long. WCAR strikes again with an amazing, and I mean freaking amazing, album. Everything about it is good. I seriously couldn't think of one bad thing about it, no strike that, the only bad thing is that it ends. Good news, though, you can start it over. This is possibly the best album of the year, and this year has had some amazing music. Take a listen, you'll see that I'm right.

Amazon kept throwing these guys at me based on my order history. From past album samples, it didn't really pique my interest...until now.

I heard some music and clean lyrics I liked and decided to check them out. Boy, am I glad I did! This is now the best CD I've bought since Alesana's "The Emptiness". Not exactly the same type of music, but not far off either. The clean, group choruses are just awesome. Combined with a very competent band, it just hits the right spot quite often. The lead track pumps me up like nothing I've heard for years.

They don't really do anything especially new or innovative, really, It's just the absolute right combination of music, lyrics, and mood that some bands can put together often, and some cannot. If you're into metal, post-hardcore, or anything remotely close to those genres, this one will not disappoint.

This band was suggested by Amazon when looking at the albums of my all time favorite band, Poison The Well. I took a chance and bought this album without hearing much of their sound and I am so glad I did!

This band goes from melodic to hardcore, in your face sound in an instant. It has a good mix of singing and screaming. And the lyrics are actually complex and meaningful rather than just simple, childish angst.

Just dropping this review 3 years after the album came out. I bought this on CD and have been listening to it for a while now. This is one of the best albums WCAR has produced. The fact that they strayed away from this type of oomph, is pretty horrible. Like i said, the best album they produced, was this one. My 2 personal favorite songs from this album are "The Way That We Have Been" and "I Can't Make Your Decisions For You"

Room filling, heart filling, just all around good quality sound. I have only been getting into the metalcore scene since may 2010, and they embody what I see as the perfect mix of harmonically driven soundscapes infused with a heavy atmosphere and a serious contrast between songs. This is one of those albums you can listen to all the way through, without realizing its started repeating in the cd player or mediamonkey. Oh so fresh.

I would recommend this to people who dont want an extremely "screamy" or heavy sound with their breakdowns and harmonically driven metalcore/hardcore but like the progressive sound that comes with quality albums of the style. If you like their style, I highly recommend Sienna Skies, House vs. Hurricane, and The Browning.
