Samantha Sweeting, high power attorney find herself cleaning houses despite the fact that she isn't domestic... and she's surprisingly happy about her new life. Although by about page 30 you know exactly how this book is going to end, I enjoyed reading it very much. Ms. Kinsella weaves an amusing tale with likeable characters. There were a few parts where you might have to suspend your disbelief, but it is a fun, light fiction book full of laughs so this didn't bother me. I liked the fact that although it's chick-lit and it's described as a romance, there is just enough romance to add to the story without being overbearing, sickly sweet or off topic. Well done, Ms. Kinsella!
I had never read Sophie Kinsella's work before, this is my first book and I like the way she wrote it.
I felt she took the time to build up all the characters in her story, give them something to work with and not just be a name.
The story made me imagine all that Samantha was going thru...made me laugh at parts and feel for her in others. It's one of those books you just can imagine being turn into a movie or TV special someday.....
This would make an excellent movie(ok, Brits, "film") although, as always when this level of high-powered career is invoked, I do wonder if there really are women learning to get off in six minutes, or if that is comic exaggeration. Never having been on that track in real life, I guess I can never be sure.
More fun than I expected...Kinsella is on a roll.
This book is entertaining and gives you something to think about, too.
