From the Author
An m/m entry in the Chicago Rebels series about the team's buttoned up, openly gay general manager and the defenseman who is out of bounds to him in every possible way. Boss/employee. Older/younger. Out/closeted.
So many complications, all of them delicious . . .
Special note: Catch up with Cade and Dante in a special holiday novella, Wrapped Up in You.

Cade, the laid back Texan nicknamed Alamo, is always the first one to crack a joke to ease tension or keep everyone around him happy. Violet, one of the Chase sisters who co-owns the team, is the only one who knows his secret and who helps him keep it. Once Dante comes to the team, keeping his preferences under wraps becomes a whole lot harder- pun intended! The man is sex in a suit, and it doesn't help that the older man fueled more than a few of Cade's teenaged fantasies when Dante was playing in the NHL himself. When Cade decides to make a move, it doesn't go exactly as he hoped but it doesn't take long before he wears down Dante's defenses.
Nothing will be easy though. As Cade's boss, Dante's job could be on the line if anyone finds out about what happens behind closed doors with one of his players. Dante knows all too well the cost of being honest with the world and he stills feels the loss of his parents from his life after his decision to come out. Cade faces similar issues when he makes the decision to reveal himself to the world, and Dante does not want to be his reason for making the choice; he has to do it for himself and no one else. Cade's father is going to be a challenge, and facing other players along with the media circus and rampant homophobes is going to be daunting. Dante also doesn't want to live his life in the shadows so he knows this bit of fun has to have an expiration date.
I will admit it took me a little bit to buy into these two together, but by the halfway point in the story I was completely on board! The author infuses the story with a great combination of heat and humor among the realities of the decisions Cade and Dante must make. I loved the little nod to Brady and Gage from the Hot in Chicago series when Harper was trying to fix Dante up with some of her friends and acquaintances. And I definitely fell a little more in girl-love with the protective side of Violet as she stood by Cade's side through it all. I can't wait for her story - and I need to know if the Rebels win the Cup too of course!
Which leads me to why I truly loved this book. I would normally call this a sexy story but it felt WAY more than JUST sexy. There was a raw intimacy between Cade and Dante that I could actually FEEL when they were together. Were the sex scenes scorching, absolutely, but they were so much more than that. It honestly felt like I was witnessing the most sensual moments that two people could possibly share and I felt Dante and Cade’s connection...everywhere.
It’s quite obvious that I have a great affection for everything that Kate Meader writes so it seems redundant to repeat myself here but, for those of you who haven’t picked up a story from her, please do. I swear you won’t regret it.
I need to shout it from the rooftop...I adore this series, but adding this book into the series, has simply made it perfection. I'm so, so, so happy that Cade and Dante got their own book because they have a fantastic story.
Dante is the first openly gay person in the NHL. He's the GM for the Rebels. What he doesn't realize is that one of his players is gay, too. Cade has been one of the main characters on the team from the very beginning. He's young and extremely talented. He also has a great personality that helps to keep the team together and functioning as a unit. But anyway, when Cade approaches Dante in a gay club, Dante doesn't know exactly what to do...council the guy on how to come out in the NHL or do what he really wants...put Cade on his knees. Yeah, this book is all kinds of sexy.
My heart wept for both these guys. Dante has fought for years to be out and accepted, so the idea of going back in the closet is not acceptable. But Cade isn't ready to come out of the closet. And that's just the issues with being gay and out. They also have the difficulty that technically, Dante is Cade's boss...not a good mix for a new relationship. BUT these two guys are so, so good together and for each other. I loved them together. Watching their relationship develop was gorgeous reading. I absolutely fell in love with both of them...and felt for both of them and the struggles they are facing.
Overall, this book was a FANTASTIC addition to a series that I've already loved. My hope now is that this one will come out in print, too...I need the WHOLE series in print and in its treasured place on my keeper shelf.
Note...there's only one more book to come and I'm almost sad for it to come out. I'm not ready for this series to end yet.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Plus, the relationship that developed between Cade and Dante was lovely, and I especially liked how Dante went to bat for Cade when it really mattered. Not to mention the rest of the characters in this series are great, particularly Violet and I loved the friendship between her and Cade. And I can't wait to read Violet's story when it's released in a couple of months.
As for Undone By You, I would happily recommend it to others. Especially if you're a fan of this series, author or just enjoy great sports romance.
I loved the sporting theme, and the angst between 2 perfectly suited men hiding in a sport that is largely still homophobic. Add in a May/December twist, with a little bit of kink and whoa, so good.
I loved the sisters, and their devotion, and Dante, all uniting to do what was best for the team. Cade was fabulous, the man loved and wanted who he loved and wanted, Dante was always going to be sunk, it was just a matter of when and where.
If you love smoking hot M/M romantic fiction with a twist of sport, you'll love this book. The entire series is highly recommended reading.
May to December romance? Check!
I have read all of the Chicago Rebels books so far, but Undone By You was my favourite by far (to date anyway!)
Dante and Cade's story was everything I could have wanted for Dante after meeting him in the earlier books.
It was fun, flirty and sexy, with plenty of banter between Dante and Cade, and also a lot of heartbreak and hurt.
I loved being taken along Cade's journey, as both a hockey star and as a gay man in a manly-man sport, still full of homophobia and bigotry.
I read this book in one sitting as I just couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to see what Ms Meader brings us next.
