That was flippin AhMazing-LOVED IT, loved everything about; the story, the characters, the pace, the drama, the laughs & the sexy times. I. Just. Loved. It.
“Oh, Sally. I've thought so much about you since our night together. The way you felt on top of me. I've never come so hard in my life. Then you leave me with no way to find you. Until today, Sally. Until today when I saw you walk into the gym. Beautiful and glowing. This job is going to bring you and I closer and I hope we can get to know each other deeper. Tell me...Sally, can we get any deeper?”
~Erin Decker has everything she wants in life. At twenty-seven years old, she has a job she loves, she has a beautiful home with her best friend Noelle, and she has been with her boyfriend Robert for four years-she loves him, has been through so much with him and sees them getting engaged in the very near future.... until he deals her the ultimate betrayal. Heartbroken and devastated, she finds comfort in the arms of a stranger. She instantly feels a connection, but being fresh off a failed relationship, she flees after an intense night of passion without so much as getting his last name, a phone number, or even giving him her real name; he only knows her as Sally. The summer that started off in despair soon takes an unexpected turn that will change her life forever when she realizes her one-night stand left a piece of himself behind with no way to find him....until he comes blazing back into her life when she least expects it.
I'm starting to think that maybe I was never in love with Robert. He was safe, comfortable, and trustworthy, or so I had thought.Read more ›
the hero Walker is too good to be real and/or over the top to be realistic but I did not care. I loved how crazy in love Walker was with Erin, how he did things for her, his pushiness in getting her to accept him and their relationship and was blind to other women, despite them throwing themselves at him due to his looks and personality. There was no cheating and no sleeping with OW/OM after Walker and Erin met. Unlike her dirtbag former boyfriend, he never hurt Erin, physically or mentally, but rather treated her with love and respect.
In reality if Erin was not blinded by his hot looks and body, she would probably get a restraining order due to his obsessiveness with her. However, romance land is not always reality nor do I always want it to be. I am interested in reading other books by this author because I know that I am going to want to escape from the stress and pressure of everyday life again. When I do, I am hoping her future book heroes will be similar enough to Walker to provide it.
First off. The writing was good, as in very few mistakes. A plot that moves at a good pace and keeps you reading. I didn't skip or skim, and I wanted to continue reading.
Despite the good points, I had some problems and issues. Maybe they're personal, but still they can't help but influence my review.
The instalove after the whole reunion. A one night stand just doesn't work like that. I get he told her he thought about her for those three months, but I didn't really feel it for some reason. Maybe if the writer could have thrown in his POV and let me connect to this character more I might have developed that connection. It just seemed like it became all about the baby and not a real romantic connection they developed as a result of the one night stand.
Then there was the circumstances of the reunion. That little twist of fate just didn't quite work for me. It was cute, but it was way too easy, and it really didn't work for me. However, I could go with it. It's fiction.
Now I have to address my issue, and keep in mind I don't want this to reflect my review too much. These are educators. I get that he's an entry year, but she is older and has a few years experience. The behavior of these teachers squeezed my heart. I'm probably making this way more personal than I should for a work of romantic fiction, but I JUST CAN'T HELP IT. There behavior at school with their coworkers and students around....good god.....I seriously wanted to throw things. I cringed. I am a teacher. A very human teacher. I have had issues in my personal life, but I have never, ever brought those issues to my school, coworkers, and students like these characters did.Read more ›
