Greg Fairchild has recently divorced and is having a difficult time processing the fact that his marriage really is over. He starts feeling down and can't find anything to help with his mood until he meets Tanner Williams, a professional soccer player. They become fast friends and Greg discovers why his marriage really failed. Isabelle is an amazing author and pulls you right into the story of her characters, that are genuine and so believable. Absolutely CANNOT wait for the next book!

I have been a fan of Isabelle Peterson since I bought her very first book, Ditching the Dream, and Elizabeth & Jack have been my all time favorite book couple. I never thought I'd feel differently. But after reading this book, I can honestly say that is no longer true. Greg and Tanner, even being a gay couple, have officially dethroned them from the #1 position. I had never read a m/m love story and was very uncomfortable with this subject matter. But as I read, Isabelle wove the story, the characters, and the emotions so well that I could not help but fall in love with this couple and their journey.

This book tells us the story of Greg, a 40-something man, who was raised by strict religious parents and has just gone through a divorce that he did not want. He meets a man, Tanner, one night and starts to have, according to Greg, inappropriate reactions to him. Isabelle leads us from the first meeting, through the courtship, to the HEA so very well that if I didn't know better, I'd swear Izzy was a gay man in real life. She, so expertly, makes you feel all of Greg's feelings as he comes to terms with the fact that he is a gay man, has been a gay man all his life, his wife was correct in her reasoning behind the end of their marriage, and he loves another man. While Greg is the main character, Izzy doesn't ignore the other characters and their feelings. She weaves in Tanner's, Greg's ex-wife's, Greg's children, Greg's friends, Greg's family's feelings into the story at the most appropriate times.

I know I'm not doing this book justice in my review but that's the reason I'm not the author. I just want everyone to know what an INCREDIBLE book this book is. Buy it, I guarantee you won't regret it!

Wow, I loved this. Greg and Tanner we're Smokin hot together. I read this book as a stand alone. It was awesome. I never felt like I needed to read the other books in the series. But now I want to. It's that good. Loved the writing.

Greg Fairchild loved his wife of 20+ years, he really did. But not the way her should have. He was working himself into an early grave to provide for his family. Or that's what he told himself. What he comes to realize is that is not the truth. He discovers something very unexpected of himself. He finally figures out what he was missing and what Elizabeth was looking for. Isabelle Peterson hit the ball out of the part with this book. But this book and follow Greg on his path of self discovery. You will not be disappointed.

I wish I liked Unexpected Dreams more. I liked it enough to empathize with the characters, though there were times I wanted to strangle the main character, Greg.

Greg is a 45-year-old man whose divorce from his wife of twenty years is about to become final. They have three grown kids together, but Elizabeth recently decided she needed "more" and walked out of their marriage, leaving Greg adrift and second-guessing his life and his choices. Into this vacuum is dropped a gorgeous 38-year-old soccer star with perfect abs, an incredibly hot body, and a smile to die for. And that's just what Greg does.

After forty-five years as a skirt-chaser, faithful husband to his wife, proud father of his bright and self-sufficient kids and partner in a very successful financial management firm he founded with his friend, Aaron, he suddenly realizes he's gay. As an active supporter of Prop 8 (the anti-gay-marriage amendment) and raised a rabid Catholic taught to hate anyone or anything gay, he can't quite believe what's happening to him. But, as the days go on, he becomes more and more enamored of Tanner, the soccer star, and realizes he can't even get it up for women any more. Talk about a mid-life crisis!

I must admit that it strikes me as not quite realistic. The author even has Greg say "How does a man get to forty-five years old and suddenly have those feelings? Preposterous!"

I agree, it is. No checking out boys in the locker room. No looking at males while watching straight porn. Not even a "gay for you" thing with Tanner (he can't get aroused by ANY women, any more). He is either the most un-self-aware man who ever lived, or he's been fooling himself.

Unexpected Dreams is book 4 in the Dream series. This is a M/M novel.

Warning! Be prepared to melt! This is Greg's story and how he copes after the divorce. After being married for over 20 years, how does he go on in life and start over? Why on earth did his wife leave him? Greg just wants answers and boy, will he find them in the most unexpected way possible. Greg meets Tanner Williams in a bar and steps in to help Tanner before some big brute beats on Tanner. This forms a friendship between Tanner and Greg.

What Greg doesn't know is that Tanner plays for the other team and is attracted to Greg. Greg doesn't realize this until they've been hanging out and Tanner goes for the kill and kisses Greg. Holy Hotness! Greg kisses him back and likes it, but he's just so confused. Greg has always been a ladie's man, so why is he sporting a rock hard tent for a man?

Unexpected Dreams is a heartfelt story of a middle-aged man trying to understand himself and how he's lived so long being married to a woman. How did he not realize after all these years that he's attracted to men, well not just any man, but to Tanner Williams? Tanner is a superstar soccer athlete with the body of a God! Tanner is charming and sweet. He's never been in a commited relationship but he will do anything to help Greg cope with these new changes that have stirred up his life.

This book is my first ever M/M novel. I admit I was terrified to read this, but with all the teasers I've been seeing and after hating Greg so much in the prior Dream series books, I just had to give this a try. I absolutely loved it! What did I love so much? It's that Ms.
