I love books that grab you from the beginning and won't let you go. Ridge and Kendall have this flawless love that grips you from the start. In the beginning you find out about how Ridge's life is about to change, and it doesn't really stop there. Changes and anxious happenings occur, but they are all so good. No angst ridden plots... Just the story of two people learning from one another.
Kendall has been through some emotional times, but it doesn't hold her back from truly experiencing what is meant for her. Ridge is truly a wonderful man, and she knows this from the beginning. There are some challenges, and a HUGE twist, but can these issues be the ending of what they feel for one another? You'll just have to read it to find out.
I really loved this book, and the writing is so good. Being that I have read every single one of her books, you can tell that she blossoms with each new adventure she writes. I promise you will not regret reading this story. Truly amazing.
Sometimes, if you're lucky, people come into your lives at just the right moment. That's exactly what Kendall did for Ridge. Though separated by a few years, they'd gone to high school together so they knew OF each other. But until the right circumstances presented themselves, their paths never really crossed. Almost as if it were fate, I love that when they finally did, an unexplainable rope seemed to pull them together seamlessly. I'm usually a serious angst lover, but with everything he was going through with adjusting to a newborn, I really appreciated that extra drama wasn't present here. It happened fast, but it didn't seem like instalove. At least not in my eyes anyway. It couldn't have been more perfectly if the author had tried.
There were a few things in the end that were a little far fetched, but over all, they just added to the story. Gave it just the little bit of drama that it needed. I've already purchased the paperback to keep on my shelf, and this is definitely a story I will return to in years to come. I'm very interested to see if the author will do any spin-off books for the side characters, because between the sister, the best friend, and the four other friends, the material is definitely there. I know I'll be first in line should they ever come to fruition!
I didn't like the whole Stephanie situation and how it came to be. That was a major douchebag move. And I kind of lost a little respect for him. I don't care how much of a bitch she was.
Kendall was a very sweet girl. She loved little Knox from the get go. I also could understand her attraction to Ridge as he was someone she crushed on in high school. I did not really feel the connection from Ridge though. Sure he told us she was beautiful and can't stop thinking of her but when they first see each other after years of not, there was no mention of his thoughts. He asked her questions about Knox and that was it. I guess I'm used to reading the thoughts of the hero about that initial meeting that I can feel or see the attraction.
This was a cute story but not my favorite by Ms. Ryan.
