“I wanted a love that made my heart soar and my knees quake.”
Roxie is left heartbroken. Her love for a man shattered by a secret. Something he never admitted to her nor himself. You do not see this coming. Determined to get on with her life, she vows that no man is ever worth the fall. She doesn’t do relationships. She gets what she wants from men and moves on. David is a bit of a womanizer. He seeks one thing and moves on. When David meets Roxie, sparks fly. They spend one night of passion together. It’s a night that shakes both of them to their core. Neither one expected a connection. But it’s there. They feel it in their heart beats. But hearts can be broken. And who wants to deal with that...again?
“The thought of being David’s only...it was more than I could ever hope for.”
Circumstances bring David and Roxie back into each other’s lives. They never have forgotten the one night where their souls connected. Where they wanted more. But broken hearts don’t seek out love. For love destroys. The attraction still remains. The pursuit is entertaining. I loved watching them fall for the other. It's endearing. Special. It made me smile. Laugh out loud. I was with them as they handed the other their heart. But when tragedy strikes, choices are made. Was love really worth it?
“My heart softened and fully entwined with hers. She became a part of me, one I never wanted to leave.”
I would describe the love between Roxie and David as magnetic. Magical, overwhelming, fierce. Your heart beats with them.Read more ›
I don't even know where to begin with this review. I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, so was fairly certain I would love this one too and have been waiting not so patiently for it's release. Unfolding Desires was no exception to my love for this series. In fact, I was completely blown away by Kristy's writing in this book. She made me feel so deeply, so many times. There is some overlap from Heartfelt Lies at the beginning, but now you read it from Roxie's point of view instead of Cassie and Jax's, but it's needed to make Unfolding Desires what it is. I also really like how Kristy writes the books from dual points of views. I think it adds so much to the story to hear what's going on in both characters heads.
I couldn't help but hurt right along with Roxie, both times her heart was broken. Even though the second time was somewhat of a misunderstanding (even though David was totally wrong) and had she heard David out, it would have been much less hurtful and less drawn out, in my opinion, but sometimes we have to go through painful things to make us who we are.
I also wanted to reach through my kindle and not only slap David, but also Brock, Mia's husband. I'm so glad Roxie and Mia became such good friends. I think they both were in need of a friend and were able to be there for the other at different times.
I can't even tell you how my heart broke for Mia as well as Gia and everybody connected to them. What a sad turn of events. They say everything happens for a reason, but it's always hard to find that reason when a child is hurt or dies. The accident wasn't domestic violence, but have to wonder if it hadn't been a car accident, what would Brock have eventually done?
I was so happy with the David and Roxie's ending, but cried when I read the Epilogue which is written from Mia's point of view. But I'm not going to lie, I now am anxiously awaiting Mia's book.
Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down." ~ Socrates.
People that are hurt and angry think its easier to run then to stay. But sometimes the stay is worth to see and live the reason your running from. Unfolding desires is Roxie's story...the third in the Undone series. Kristy love writes each of these stories about her character's stuggles, and through these struggles we see their strengths.
I met Cassie's sister Roxie in the last book, Heartfelt lies and was excited to see this was her story. I like to see each and every one of these charcters from the last book Kristy wrote. It brings us closer to them and we realize not everyone has a perfect life not even in books.
This story is about hope, strength, putting others first and moving on. Will Roxie's solid brick walls crash down? Is it possible to find love after running for so long? Will Roxie be the only one worth fighting for? Will there be a second chance to run to? Find out all the answers, and see what unfolds infront of your eyes.
I give Roxie's story an unfolding 4 stars. If you haven't read any of the Undone series I recommend picking up the first called The Fragile Fall and start meeting Kristy's clan..you'll be hooked...jumping and skipping to the next!
