Cassidy is a wedding planner who believes in the HEA for her brides but has given up on her own prince charming and happily ever after. Cassidy is a single mom who believes she won't ever find the love of her life after she was hurt by the father of her child.
Blake is a successful journalist who was happily married to the love of his life with 1 daughter and another child on the way when his wife was ripped away from him and his children in a tragic accident. Blake didn't think he could ever find love again since he already found it but lost it.
When Blake meets Cassidy at Cassidy's best friend's wedding to Blake's best friend, Blake finally feels that there might be another woman he could love. However, Cassidy doesn't want to get involved since she doesn't trusts men any more and when she finds out who Blake was, she knew that he has lost his wife. Blake knows that he wants to get to know Cassidy better but knows that he had his work cut out for him with her resistance to him even though she is definitely attracted to him.
Cassidy gives in to Blake's determination and they try to have a relationship. Obviously there are obstacles that each of them have to overcome from their past but it looks like they are finally on the same page when Cassidy's past shows up at the most unlikely places. She is afraid that Blake will hate her and her daughter when he finds out how her past collides with his past. But Blake is more hurt that Cassidy doesn't believe in them and their relationship than he is by what he finds out about the past! Cassidy's best friend and her husband talks some sense into Cassidy and she figures out what she needs to do but a possible tragedy could strike again before she can tell Blake what she really wants.
We were introduced to Cassidy and Blake in the aforementioned books. In my opinion, they ALWAYS deserved their own book and now, MC Decker has done this with this spectacular book, Unforeseen.
I am not going to rehash the story line, for a couple of reasons, first it is in the blurb. Second, I do not want to give anything away.
Unforeseen is just as emotional as Unwritten and Unscripted, and it started in the Prologue when Blake had to say “…. Darn, I said no spoilers. I will say the tears started to flow.
I loved watching Blake come out of his funk, because of Cassidy. She healed him in ways that no one else had been able to. Just as Blake helped Cassidy to heal her emotional scars as well. No, sorry, I refuse to give anything away. You will have to read this fabulous book to find out what I am writing about.
As I stated above, I was first introduced to Ms. Decker’s writing in Unwritten and have been a fan of her highly emotional, fun loving, romance novels ever since.
Kudos, Ms. Decker on another winner!!!
I was gifted with an ARC copy of Unforeseen for my honest opinion. When I started this wonderful book, I could not put it down until I finished, although then I was sad because I finished it. I did not want their story to end. Catch 22...sigh.
I hope I have helped you make the decision to buy this book, because it is FABULOUS

Blake knew happiness at its best. He loved his wife and children and had a good a good job. Everything was perfect. Then before he knew it, he was a widower with two kids to raise. I loved Blake. He was such a good man, honest, determined and caring.
Cassidy is a wedding planner who once believed in happily-ever-after. Helping others find their happy endings always felt good and she thought she would have that one day too. Then she found herself alone and pregnant. Devastated, she dedicates herself to her business and her daughter. Cassidy made me sad. She was so afraid to open herself up to be hurt again.
When Blake and Cassidy meet at their friend’s wedding, the attraction is instant. But after the heartbreak she went through, Cassidy is afraid to let go of the past and the hurt she felt. Blake is surprised to feel something for another woman, but willing to see where it goes.
This was at once a very heartwarming story about second chances and sad and heartbreaking. Their journey was not easy, but both were real and honest with each other at all times. I loved seeing both characters grow, the interactions with the children and their friends. A great story overall!
