Funny to watch!

My daughter loves unicorns and purchased this as a Christmas gift for my dad. We had so much fun watching the squirrels use it that we bought another as a gift for another family member, and one for our house. The squirrels figure it out quickly and come back over and over until it's empty.

The unicorn head squirrel feeder is really cute. It didn't take 4 hours for the squirrels to find it and watching them eat inside the head is really fun. HOWEVER, I should have realized they would be chewing on the head looking for more seed ! I went 2 days w/o filling the head and the squirrels have about chewed the entire head off :( I'm not sure I recommend $20 for 3-4 hours of entertainment.

I had to be really patient to witness a squirrel using the feeder. It took about a month of filling, re-filling and monitoring the feeder. Mind you, we were also gone for a couple weeks. But the results are hilarious!!!

Find a place to hang it where I could check it regularly was tricky. I tried several locations but finally decided that most importantly would be to put it somewhere I would see regularly. I had tried hanging it from a few trees near the ground and the squirrels emptied it a few times but I never saw them. So I put it right outside our kitchen window on the porch rail. Then it took a week in that spot to finally get a squirrel brave enough to get to it but it made it more likely that we would capture him in the act.

I love this product! It only took the squirrels a couple of days to figure it out. Several reviews mention it only lasting a day or so and then the squirrels ate through the head, that has just not been the case for me! I wonder if they had troubles because they put peanut butter in their's (One of the recommendations is to put peanut butter in before you put in your corn/seed to keep it from falling out) I didn't use peanut butter in the bird seed still stays in! Nothing else it's great for the entertainment !

I bought this as a gift but the person didn’t use it quite right. They put peanut butter in the nose area and squirrels chewed a hole through it. I don’t think it would’ve happened if she had put it closer to the hole.

My unicorn was missing its horn

It looks like I decapitated an unicorn.

If a squirrel is in it, yes it looks cute, but if there is no squirrel actively feeding on it, it looks like a decapitated head. Also the holes to tie a string too are too small.
