Many settings option. Very customizable and has database updates available from the Uniden website. I like how it shows the actual frequency number being used on the band so it’s easier to tell if it’s an actual radar or a signal coming from other vehicles/stores.
I personally find the sounds for alerts on the DFR9 to be much less annoying than other brands.
I replaced an older beltronics rx65.

I just took a 6 state trip and I was very impressed at the accuracy, and distance the DFR9. If I had to guess it has a 2.5-3.0 mile range which is early enough warning for me. I almost got caught by a radar on a corner but I was alerted just in enough time to slow down, that was my only close call. Warned in plenty of time for red light cameras in the city, and highway speed monitors were picked up quick. The range is so long one may think there is a false alarm, but slow down because the DFR9 doesn't lie 90% of the time. I did sometimes pick up a signal from certain cars, and trucks. My guess is the cars collision system or cameras because it would go off when I passed the vehicles. Other than that the DFR9 is perfect for the frequent traveler. I suggest updating the software after unboxing.

It did a great job – of detecting radar speed signs (k-band ~24), I mean most of its alerts are the same band around ~24.
Other than that, its ka band alerted twice. One of them is a police car pulling over another guy, the other I never saw the police.
However, I saw at least 5 policy cars, either on the side of the highway, or hide under the bridge, or on the bridge above the highway, and the alarm did nothing. Luckily I am not an aggressive driver so I wasn’t got ticketed or anything.
Overall I am very disappointed about this product. If you want a speed radar sign detector, you would love it. Otherwise not so much. A good waste of $200.

I bought this for my cross-country trip from San Diego, CA to Ann Arbor, MI.

It’s not lying when it says “super long range”. Today while I was driving down the highway, the Ka-Band alert went off for an entire mile. It lasted so long I thought the radar detector must have been malfunctioning or something because I had not seen a single cop, so I had to mute it. After it had been alerting for a whole mile, I finally passed by a state trooper hidden in some bushes. This thing is worth the money!

The detector seems to work very well. I purchased a mirror mount so I don't have to deal with the suction cups.
The only slight drawback is the volume control doesn't allow for finer control on the bottom end. But the plus side is the mute button on the power plug which is very handy.
The detector alarms with plenty of time to reduce your speed in hiway mode. The unit is sleek and the menu is user-friendly. The USB port on the power plug is a nice touch and very convenient for your phone.
I recommend this to anyone.

Buy using this, I discovered that not all the cameras are working 24/7. This was very interesting. This device give you a 2 block warning about your over your speed limit and that there is a red light camera ahead. That is how I discovered that the cameras aren't working all the time. I would get a notice approaching red light camera and then pass it again several hours or a day later and no notification. Great product, reasonably priced. SO FAR IT DOES THE JOB IT WAS PURCHASED FOR!!

Don’t leave this out in the sun tho. Example if it’s a hot day don’t leave it mounted on the windshield because the speaker will melt or some other internal. Always try to cover it from direct sunlight. And buy a different mount tbh. The one they give u sucks. But the dfr9 is amazing worth the 200
