One piece of advice: before you assemble this, get a can of Rustoleum-type paint specifically made for high temperature applications – mine was labeled 'for grills'. Give the bowl and the mesh cover a couple of really good coats of this paint to help retard rusting. I learned this as I watched my friends unit start to rust after just a few weeks. In all fairness, his pit is in an open area and he douses the fire with copious amounts of water each night. I painted mine thoroughly before assembling it and have not had that problem. I also drilled several additional quarter-inch holes in the bottom of the pan to improve drainage and airflow.
I wanted the largest movable fire pit available and this is it. I was surprised they would ship something this large to Hawaii.
The Porcelain Bowl statement is not true. Just the grate on the bottom is Porcelain coated. Not a problem. At this price when it rusts out as they all do I'll get another.
Nast night my grandson and I lit a fire in it as it was getting chilly. A full moon was rising over the hills on a clear night and some memories were made.
Update! Nine months later and the bowl and screen are totally rusted out. Still love it but wish it lasted longer. We used it at least once once a week over that time period.
PROS: Great price for its size and price. Easy to assemble.
CONS: Most of the paint will burn off after a couple of uses. Bowl is rusty now, though no holes yet.
VERDICT: Good for the price. Should last about 3-4 years.
