and surprise, people think this is a joke phone. Its not, it has its uses, MOSTLY as a backup line, a work or a work out phone where you need to be lighter or lightly caring, When you still need a cell line or a connection to the world, the Jelly Pro with its 2GB ram and 16GB rom with 4G/LTE connections, wifi, bluetooth among other connected packed smartphone features, will serve you for just those purposes.
Buying brand new I have to say this has been one of the best and most surprisingly good unboxing experiences on a long time. a screen protector is included with a new unboxed of the unit and that really helps. Coming from the micro x240, right away I could tell it is much more 'heft' from its predecessor- they can't claim to be the smallest smartphone sense the battery is bigger on the jelly pro, however you can see the difference in performance and ability from 4.4 vs 7.0 android with better specs but its still an impressive size- it is hardly felt in your pocket as you tackle your workout or work projects without the distractions of the modern bigass smartphones (which have gotten noticeably bigger in the past few years)- don't expect the full smartphone experience- this is not for texting and videos- quick messages, web browsing when its needed, calls. prefect for podcasts and music on the go.
pros
-the killer size, serves a 'niche' market
-2gb ram is excellent beating out my old galaxy s3- 16gb storage and micro SD slot is there.
-2 sim slots work well
-pretty fast- android 7.0 feels really nice here.
-ONBOARD FM RADIO! thank you Unihertz team for including this on your phone! It's not the greatest- but it records and I'm super happy its present.
-camera/video? not the greatest but I'm happy its there for sudden improvements when its needed and nothing else is around. a VAST improvement from Posh, flashlight is on there too I love this feature- so cool to have a flashlight on such a tiny phone. completely missing from posh.
-Build quality considering is pretty good. care and attention went into the design. I loved how the posh felt in the hands and I'm happy to say this is mostly the same.
-Full android 7.0 experience. Apps work much better then they did before on the posh-faster and more optimized.
-call recording is there when you need it.
-answering and taking calls can be a pain... but greatly improved from posh.
love it.love it love it. however, its not a prefect backup phone. some things can be worked out. Even some improvements can be done with what we have now. some examples
Cons
-the BIGGEST FAULT would have to be the battery, a HUGE downfall for MANY phones over time. Processing power has gotten stupid good stupid quick but lithium ion battery tech is still the same as ever with the improvements only being in size. Even though a great improvement from the Posh, the 950 Milliamp Hour(mAh) (over posh 650mAh) however it does not quite optimize it even very well. I think the new 7.0 and some built in apps
really drain it and make it inaccurate at times. I have personally charged intermittantly to see big (60ish%) numbers only for it to fall during listening to a podcast an hour later. the battery drain really sucks the usability of this tiny rig. Users report rooting and cleaning up of certain apps and disable of wireless communications to greatly increase the capacity of their jelly phones. Unihertz please release a bigger battery with a new backcover and case to compensate,
-users report bad GPS feeds... I haven't seen this so far.
-a couple of apps can be glitchy, again its likely the battery saving doing its job.
-NFC missing... fair enough it may be even more draining for battery use.
-taking out the battery to install micro SD/SIM cards is a pain in the rear. Confusing and hard to figure out- quick guide wasn't clear on this. I preferred the posh mini sim/side loading design here- back cover had to go but battery could stay in. minor gripe in design it functions otherwise after installed.
-NOT recommended use for heavytexting/webs surfing. However in a pinch it DOES get the job done- I like to use the smart keyboard pro app to talk into my phone to send accurate text messages when needed.
the young ambitious Unihertz team must be commended- these young designers and engineers broke off from posh after they made the successful Posh micro 240X and they founded one of the BEST kick starters and succeeded with it quickly. You may notice I compare to the posh often- this phone is the predecessor of that model, witch many considered a joke and started at 89 dollars then quickly rose to small status fame when it was under 50 dollar sale on amazon- we were surprised with what we got back then and the market responds- you won't see that phone for more then 120!
however important the roots may be make no mistake- their is a demand for the "mini phone market" for many of us who see the potential of a well crafted mini android phone and the Jelly pro does well in meeting that market demand. If your someone who is sick of the major smartphone/social media craze and want something different but still of quality, you gotta check out this mini rig, either as a backup for your workout/working purposes, or as a primary who are sick of technology but need a line to stay connected. This one is for you.
THERE IS A PURPOSE, there is a reason for this phone. Make no mistake, there are many who take this seriously and see the potential to this market. I get made fun of for using this phone cause it looks so ridiculous in the modern smartphone craze but I carry and use it cause i see the practical use. Well normally I don't care for Chinese made products. This is one of the BEST Chinese made products to come out in a long time. Not prefect but its worth checking out.
Well done Unihertz.
post-use edit: I have to take it down a star because the battery is so brutal, near unusable.- the wireless connections (wifi, 4g, bluetooth, location) drain the battery down o near impossible use. I listen to podcast all day with the screen hardly on, little wifi, little data and I got 7 hours at best, on brand new phone? even just keeping the phone on with wifi I understand 950mAH is tiny but so is the screen. power management stinks and the built in apps barely help at all. Any good suggestions please let me know
March 2018 update: it appears that there were wakelock issues with the OS... and that they've been fixed with the recent update... greatly improving battery life! nice! makes the phone way more usable

March 2018 update: it appears that there were wakelock issues with the OS... and that they've been fixed with the recent update... greatly improving battery life! nice! makes the phone way more usable
I hesitated to buy because I had seen reviews elsewhere saying the keyboard was too small to use. Decided to try anyway. Amazed at how accurate the keyboard is. It works.
I wanted a small cell phone for running, bicycling, and travel. I wanted the Android Nougat ability to expand internal storage. I wanted an unlocked phone. The Unihertz Jelly Pro does all that.
I did initial setup with no screen protector and gained confidence in the keyboard and the phone. Added a glass screen protector and lost that accuracy. Peeled it off and went with a thin plastic screen protector. Keyboard is very responsive. Still learning, but I am pleased with this keyboard.
Moved the SIM from my old phone to this one and got onto the Ting network. Had to call their support number to update the IMEI number in their system. Simple as that. This is truly an unlocked cell phone. Easy to use on BYOD networks.
Could not get the Wireless Update to install. Contacted Unihertz support and got it resolved. Issue arises because I mounted a 64gb micro SD as “internal storage.” The Wireless Update process gets confused, and needs a little help from the user. Now updated and running the latest Unihertz version of Android 7.
I was puzzled regarding how to get to the dialer pad to type responses when checking my voicemail. Found that the phone interface has a slider that selects hang up (to the left) or “unlock” (to the right). Found that sliding right unlocks the speaker phone button, mute button, and dial pad. New to me, but not an issue, just a learning curve.
Initial testing indicates the battery works well. I bought a spare battery, but the process for removing the back to swap batteries is awkward, so I am learning to stretch the one battery all day. I am using the built in Dura Speed app and Settings to restrict Network Accessibility. I also added the free version of Avast antivirus because it has ability to automatically stop power draining background apps.
One lingering issue is the alarm clock. Installed version went off 6 hours late and wasted a lot of battery with alarms at a time when I could not get to the phone to turn them off. I tried another alarm app and learned there is a known issue with alarm clocks not working when a micro SD is installed as internal storage. Guess my old cell phone still has a purpose after all - as an alarm clock.
I was willing to use the Unihertz Jelly Pro as a backup phone just for running and travel. Instead, it is my primary phone. It does everything and it does it really well.

So I like the phone, it feels nice in your hand and is very portable. It has a step counting function which works without the internet connection and you can see your current number of steps by simply pressing the button that activates the screen and then pressing the button again to switch screen of having viewed your step count. I have loaded a tracking app on my phone so I track my route when jogging and get states regarding the run, I do have to enable the GPS while running but the GPS on is not as power draining as having mobile data or WiFi on. Even though the screen is small it is clear and it is not that difficult to type stuff without making many errors.
If you want to use apps like WhatsApp and want to get notification of new messages you will need mobile data on all the time which means the battery will not last even a day, so I would not recommend the phone for you but if you are OK with using SMS messaging then you do not need mobile data.
Additional observations, GPS location on does not impair battery use if you do not have an app using it active, Similarly WiFi does not use much power if not connected. I had a heavy battery day recently, almost 50 minutes of phone calls and then I was tracking my location for 90 minutes, as a result battery life was reduced to 20 hours.
