I am not going to lie. I was teary eyed at times because after everything they went through, it is still such a great feeling that their love survived... or does it?
This story was a great look into the demanding life of hardworking parents and their struggle to keep the spark of their marriage and passion alive while also balancing careers. I loved this short story. It gave me passion, frustration, conflict, and love and it was all tied into a nice bow of steaminess. *smirk* If you followed Ethan and Olivia's story, you will not be disappointed in this short story.
When I finished "Indivisible Souls", I thought it was the last I had heard of Olivia and Ethan. It was a bonus when I found out about this short story, which takes place five years after their wedding.
Life after "happily ever after" is full of after-school activities, getting called by the school because one of the kids is sick, and running around so much that they are so exhausted they crash without spending any time together on a regular basis. Chaotic is an understatement for their life, working full time jobs and having four young kids! Their life is good, but they have lost some of the spark they had when they first met and are struggling to find time together.
I would give this book 4 stars. It was a short and sweet finale to the Olivia and Ethan story!
Wow...this book ran the gamut and took me from sympathy, to tears, and ended in laughter. This novella shows a slice of life a few years down the road for Ethan and Olivia. Tricia does a great job of showing what life can be like when you've been married for a few years, both have a career and have four of children. I am not married and I don't have any children, but Tricia has opened a window for me and allows me to put myself in the scenario effortlessly.
I've always been astonished by the way authors are able to manipulate their readers' emotions, but never so much as when done in a novella, where they are working with such a short product. This novella was a joy to read and I really liked seeing how the O'Connells have evolved as a family. I give this novella 4.5 stars!
