An action-packed series complete with romance and aliens!!! Surely you do not want to miss out in this intriguing series.
Completely devoured this book in one-sitting!
But that was DEFINITELY not the case with United! This finale was packed with action and surprises to keep me on the edge of my seat right until the end! Plus, who doesn't love Aelyx and Cara? Besides our wonderful main characters, we also get to spend time with a multitude of great secondary characters, some new, and some old.
Overall, it was a fantastic finale to a fantastic series, and I highly recommend it for anyone who hasn't read it yet!
United is the final book in the Alienated and this series finale was perfect. I’m sad that this series is over.
5 reasons to read United:
-The story captures your interest from beginning to the end. There is romance, suspense and action.
-The worldbuilding of this series is simple and easy to follow. The L’eihr have advanced technology but you don’t get confused with details.
-Cara and Aelyx are a young couple but they handle their disagreements with maturity. With the dual POV readers see them work out their differences and take into consideration their different upbringings.
-The romance is sweet and swoon worthy. Aelyx and Cara are a cute couple and they have overcome great odds to be together.
-The ending was exciting with action and suspense. This also has a happily ever after ending that I loved and I was satisfied with the closure of this series (but I would love a novella with a glimpse of them older).
I recommend this to fans of Jennifer Armentrout’s Lux series and to readers looking for science fiction that is a fun and easy read.
Audiobook Review – 3.5 Stars
Madeleine Lambert returns as the narrator and I still give her 3.5 stars. I thought her performance overall was good but it still bugged me with some of her character voices. Jacksons voice was too high pitched but I continued since I loved the story. She does another excellent performance of Cara and Aelyx. Her narration brought to life the exciting scenes. I still wished they had two narrators for this series. I think a male narrator would have been easier to listen to for some of the male characters.
We pick up the story with Cara and Aelyx setting out to the colony. The place where they are supposed to get their happily ever after among their fellow humans and L'ehirs. But when the ancient race of Aribol reach out to them, giving them the option of severing the contact between the two planets or being destroyed, Cara and Aelyx must fight for their life together as well as the safety of both of their planets.
I am so happy with the way this book turned out. All the questions you've had in the previous books about Jackson and Aisley, Cara's brother, what happens to Serene now that David has passed away? All those question will be answered in this book, with some crazy action that will keep you on your toes.
The romance in this book does not disappoint. After having the distance between Cara and Aelyx in the last book, it was such a relief to see them together in this one, working side by side to create a future for themselves. While I loved reading about the two of them, because they just seem like a married couple already, what I really enjoyed reading about was how Serene was dealing with the passing of David, as well as the new budding romance between Aelyx and Cara's siblings. Wink wink.
The world-builidng was about the same level as the other books, this time we get to see lots from the colony and a few new places on earth as well as some space ships which was alright. It was very well written but definitely not the main focus of the book.
Overall, I loved the action, the storyline, the characters. Basically everything. I loved how the author decided to end the story and I will definitely be reading more from this author. I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves YA Fantasy books, you won't be disappointed.
