A tactical knife is a last-ditch defense weapon, but something this nice doesn't have to be last ditch. This powerful, full-tang beast features a 7-5/8" AUS-8 stainless steel blade. An over-molded rubber grip offers a slip-proof grip and a stainless steel guard protects your hands from any danger. Includes black leather belt loop sheath with snap closure.

1. Wrong Steel. The knife is listed as AUS-8, but it is fact the cheaper version known as 7CR13. The main reason I purchased this knife was for the price and the steel – this is not what I was expecting by any means.
2. Wrong Dimensions listed. It is listed by Amazon as having a blade length of 7 5/8” like the “Honshu Fighter” but is actually 6 5/8” in length. Also, the handle is small for me, and I have a problem finding a proper fitting handgun due to length of pull being to long for me on all Glocks, and Springfield’s. This small handle makes me feel like a giant! Completely unusable as a fighter or chopper for sure!
The bottom line is, this knife is useless and getting sent back as a result. I got it just as a collector knife, and if necessary a fighting or utility knife. It’s too small in the handle for a fighter and chopper, and the steel would not hold up as any type of utility work. Maybe for $10 I would keep it, but not a penny more! Sending this JUNK back immediately!
I do not recommend the purchase of this knife unless you are an individual that welcomes disappointment or accustom to poor quality blades. This should not discourage you from considering other United Cutlery products and or there purchase from Amazon.
Those of you that have been complaining about the steel: ever tried sharpening a very hard blade out in the woods? Good luck. This is a pretty well balanced and designed bowie with a blade that will take and keep a razor edge in about a nanosecond. For the price: you're getting an awesome blade and an even better deal. Sheath: awesome but might just need a tiny bit of work. Ymmv. UC advertises it as 17cr13 mov which is similar in a lot of ways to aus8 but its NOT. Is it a super high end knife? Uh well its UC so what can I say..... You get what you pay for and quite honestly it's pretty awesome for what you're paying.
So? If you want a $400 knife go get one. This isn't it. But for crying out loud;
