It comes not quite sharp enough, but sharpened up nicely on a diamond stone. The line cutters were a bit hard to sharpen, as they are close to the handle. Please don't put too much emphasis in the 'anti corrosive coating' they list. In order to sharpen this, you have to take off the coating. Thus, I cannot say if it is anti-corrosive or not because much of it got removed. I would expect that the titanium coated variant also suffers from this issue. I would advise not buying a titanium coated knife for this same reason. (However, a solid titanium knife WILL offer more rust/corrosion protection but at a much higher price point). After a week of diving (salt water) for a week, rinsing in fresh water, and applying a Marine Tuf Cloth (Marine TUF-CLOTH 12" x 12" resealable pouch daily and then a tiny bit if Silicone Grease (Silicone Grease - 2oz ) when I store it after my trips.
Although my methods of corrosion protection seems to be holding up, if this starts to rust after a few years, I won't be disappointed and would even buy another.
I attached the knife to my BCD, near the pocket, as it has grommets for a knife, with screws. I had to drill some holes in the scabbard to line up. Thus I did not use the straps that came with it. The belt clip is held on by two screws, both just screwed into plastic. I would not be comfortable using these, as there is more stress on the sheath when attached to a belt due to location and body movement.
The one thing I found that I would like to change is the locking mechanism. While it holds the knife safe and tight when stowed, it is difficult sometimes to remove. This is because in order to remove it, you need to push DOWN/AWAY from you ( the direction you would put the knife INTO the sheath) on the latch with your thumb, while pulling the knife out TOWARDS you. Sounds easy, but these actions are in opposite directions and even more difficult with dive gloves on. I would have preferred the latch to be pulled Upward, in the 'OUT of SHEATH' direction WHILE pulling the knife OUT. After a while I got used to it, providing I did it slowly and carefully.
I would recommend this as 'starter' knife for the beginner or casual diver (someone that goes diving/ snorkeling a few times a year), but suggest that if someone goes often, or uses a knife regularly, they look into a knife with a better locking mechanism.
Neat blade design
Sheath appears to be somewhat durable
Blade fits either way in sheath
Will fit on belt; horizontal, or vertical
Cons: not sharp at all, out of box
Blunt tip, not point
Sheath lock is hard to use, with one hand
Sheath lock may be first thing to break
All in all: neat little knife. Overall happiness with purchase.
