As for the sword itself, I found no issues with it and I am well pleased at both the appearance and the construction. Altho9ugh sharp, to me it is not razor sharp.
The sheathe is rather weak....Very much so, so don't use it as a weapon or put it through any level of duress. It's made to look good and that is all.
The blade is a tad more forgiving but don't hit it over anything that will not give. It will chip.
I give it five because for what it is meant for, it does a great job. If you try to beat it on hard objects and think you are Kenshin, you will piss away three figures, genius
The katana is characterized by its distinctive appearance: a curved, slender, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands. It has historically been associated with the samurai of feudal Japan. The Samurai or Retainer would often have a katana blade cut to length so that a classic cut like (from left shoulder through to the right hip of and opponent) would not hit the ground. The Wakizashi was made to be half the length of the katana, and never left the Samurai’s site. The Samurai if he lost (Face) or had dishonored his lord the Samurai would commit suicide by cutting his belly open with his own Wakizashi. In battle the Wakizashi was used to cut the heads off of the fallen enemy. In his house or inside the Wakizashi was use to enforce his well and to defend his house.
This product is well made but will need good maintenance, oiling the blade and a frequent lapping of the cutting edge.
