I bought the “tall” version and I’m glad I did. I needed the flexible gooseneck to allow the phone to be out of the way of the shifter for a six speed manual. It is absolutely perfect. I also have an iPhone 8 Plus and this holds it with room to spare should I ever need it. Simple button push on the top back of the holder and it releases the phone, which is held really snugly in the adjustable arms. You can adjust the bumpers on the outside once you place it in your cup holder to make it even more secure. Fantastic purchase.

It's not high, maybe because of this, he is very strong, and by the time you fold it down to be able to have the screen at you it’s basically like 1” I’m not a fan of the button release I have a dif one that spring loaded I set phone in it push down and it clamps you grab phone and push down to release it’s quick and easy when I tilt this sideways with my iPhone X I have to reclaim land squeeze it to hold it tighter or phone sags. I usually watch YouTube or something on my lunch break I drive a lot for work.

I have spent so much money on cell phone holders for my car and NOTHING worked until I got this one. The holder that attached to the vent fell off (and scratched the vent), the one for the dash just let the phone fly off, and the windshield mount lost suction after a few days. This cup holder mount was easy to install, and holds my phone tightly. I was so happy! Yes, it takes up one of my cup holders but I DON'T CARE! My passenger can hold their drink 'cause that cell phone mount is STAYING! :)

Just unboxed, put in the car and tried with my phone (Moto G6, 5.5" screen). It's a nice little unit. Very solid feeling plastic. The expanding base works well and secured into the cupholder tightly. The bracket holds the phone tight and has a hydraulic-like action (button on the back opens the side grips). It does lean the phone forward quite a bit so need to test drive to see if it interferes with using the shifter (Kia Sedona van with cupholders right next to the shifter). Will update the review after using this a while.

The device needs the supplied pads to ensure a firm grip, and no suction mounting by a twist expansion to the sides of the cup. This very adjustable and holds the cell phone vertically and tilt and swivel are nice. It holds very securely over rough roads.
The device length and width adjustments are extensive however the ability to use WAZE Gps or Video viewing in horizontal mode is not workable due to the side-gripper positions. Solved if needed by elastic bands to secure the phone. Thicker leather cased IPOD also held well with the side grips pressed firmly in place.. Thinking to purchase again for my other vehicle.

The base expands well to hold a variety of phone widths in car/truck cup holders and is easy to adjust. The width adjusts easily to accommodate different phone widths. The bottom grip is rather shallow and would be much (easily) improved by giving some length its “feet”(not a length issue) to accommodate thicker phones/phone cases. Just ok but could be very good. Time will tell how sturdy it is.
