Five years after a zombie apocalypse has all but destroyed humanity, an erratic scientist at a remote outpost may have discovered the cause of the disaster. Or he may have made it much worse. Winner, LA Web Fest. Short Film (Runtime: 15 minutes)
More money spent in the first scene of a 15 minute movie then some films fund in their entirety.
Zombies near San Diego? Why not. Hollyweird ain't the only oddball location in CA. In honestly, this is a better film than many. One bonus its short duration. This is just long enough to make the movie work without actually dragging.
Non-spoiler Review: The story was unique, I will give it that... those ideas presented... wooo, boy are they a doosy, lol. The acting was pretty good, all things considered. Though they didn't give D.B. Sweeney much to do... they could have just used any old extra for his part, really. The doctors were both equally well done. I just... I think they could have added another minute or two to flesh out a better ending. I give it 3 stars since Amazon describes this as meaning "it's ok" and since it wasn't a full "didn't like it" as a 2-star apparently means, 3 stars it is. I mean, they mention Zombie feces so that gives it a bump right there!
*spoilers ahead*, so be warned... ........ ........
Well.... I am a little confused as to where the hell the vampire fits in. Are they trying to say that the Dr expelled the inter-dimensional parasite (zombie) and the higher being (WHICH IS A VAMPIRE?!) that it was gathering food for took its place in the host body of Angela? Why would they need to consume this food to then transport it back to them? Do the vampires really want toes and spleens, etc? So many questions. The vampire tie-in felt like a late-night, coke-fueled bender "ah-ha!" moment that should have never seen the light of day.
Happy it was free to watch because although it made me laugh as its terribleness, it was not worth paying for, sad to say.
Interesting take on zombies/vampires/all manner of creepy crawlies...very short feature (15 minutes, more or less) but solid effort...I generally hate films where the scientist with all the answers is the only one to survive the zombie apocalypse, but that's sort of the point here (honestly, what are the odds...oh, you are a scientist...wave of disease passes over ...then continues onward)...worth the watch...
