As the image shows, the solenoid valve has multiple pieces. When I first put it together, although I had tightened each piece as much as I could, the valve dripped at both the "input" and "output" side. This problem was remedied with the application of simple plumber's tape, but I honestly did not see the point of having multiple connectors. The part I replaced (Honeywell 260) was of single construction, and it never leaked, despite having no plumber's tape in the connections.

The main issue I have is that the valve seems to have no pressure control, again, unlike the part I replaced. With my old solenoid, the water valve leading off from my water heater was opened to full, and I never noticed unusual water pressure in the humidifier. With this valve, when I opened the water valve from my water heater and the humidifier kicked in, there was so much water gushing into the humidifier that the humidifier couldn't contain it, and it was leaking all over the place, in addition to the substantial stream of water emptying from the drain pipe. In order to control the water pressure, I had to practically shut the water valve leading from my water heater.

Bottom line: it works, and given that humidity in my house had fallen to 6%, I needed something sooner. However, if the Honeywell replacement part had been in stock, I would've ordered it instead.

This is a great product. Last year I had to replace the solenoid in our Honeywell humidifier, and the think cost me nearly $80! Worse yet, it did not fit as shipped, and I had to spend another few dollars on fittings. When the same thing went wrong with my mother's humidifier her plumber suggested this part. It was half the cost, and came with fittings to support just about every conceivable application. I'm tempted to purchase another to keep on hand, as these solenoids seem to fail routinely about every 5 years.

Easy to install, works well, quiet, excellent water flow. Arrived within 2 business days.

Tools needed:
* Wrench (for fittings)
* Screw Driver (to remove old solenoid and attach new one to humidifier)
* Wire Stripper (to strip the sheathing off the wires on the new solenoid)
* Plumbers Tape / Silicon Tape (to ensure leak free connections)

This solenoid has good water flow, the fittings are universal, and it doesn't make much noise when it turns on and off. When installing I suggest you put plumbers tape on the copper connectors (should be done on any water connection) to ensure you don't have a leak. Also, check for leaks after install (dry off all connections, wait an hour or two, then check). The solenoid can be reversed in the bracket if you have a humidifier with the water coming in on the right side vs. the left side (hold it in place by hand before doing this to check that it is needed).

The valve mounted nicely using the stock holes on my Honeywell humidifier. It shut on and off under the control of the existing humidistat, also good. The only problem I had was with the amount of water the valve supplied: Apparently LOTS more than the old one did, to the point that water was dripping out of the seam at the bottom of the humidifier. I had added a valve to the water supply line to make it easier to work on the system the next time the valve fails, so I reduced the water supply volume until it was no longer overwhelming the humidifier, but without the valve I would say the solenoid really wasn't suitable for use with my Honeywell HE260.

Even with the additional parts this was a much cheaper option than the Honeywell replacement part, so if it lasts a reasonable amount of time it's still a good deal.

Right now, it's a 1-Star because well it did not work, does not turn on. Luckily my old one works still (although it was not working but decided to come back on when I figured I would hook it back up just to see) and I was only changing it because it's been there for 5 years and I was removing the saddle valve that was leaking and running hot/cold lines to the garage so changing this motor I figured was needed as it was not working. I'm fair and know sometimes you get a broken unit so I asked for Refund but I really want an Exchange as I would still like to change out the old one, I was surprised it turned on but thankful it did...just because the old one works I would not trust it to last long so I need that exchange. I will update if I hear back...

The unit looks nothing like the product photo. The product photo looks more like my Honeywell unit. Not that I care on looks but the new unit does bolt right to the same area with no issues as the Honeywell unit did.

You do get a lot of fittings, so this should work for most Humidifiers.
