This is not necessarily a bad product, but the product label is nothing short of massively misleading. The label gives you the "typical amino acid profile" of beef protein. They aren't telling you what you'll find in these pills, just what is "usually" found in beef protein. When I first saw the label I was quite impressed because it mentions all 20 amino acids that exist in nature. Too bad they didn't actually break down the proteins and test the quantities of each amino acid actually found.

Is this still a good product? Yes, it is still a good product if you don't eat enough red meat. If you have a salad for lunch and you're worried about getting the right stuff for your body, this would be a good time to pop a few of these pills. What you're putting into your body is somewhat of an unknown, but I would bet it's fairly similar to what they describe on the label.

On Amino Acids:
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. They are what comprises proteins in your body. Proteins (and more so amino acids), are the most precious of resources in your body. There are 20 amino acids which make up proteins. Do you need all 20 amino acids, which are mentioned in the label? No, the human body can produce 10 of the 20 aminos itself, so as far as supplements go, you really just need the other ten, called "essential" amino acids. Without the essential 10 you can't produce, your body will start breaking down good tissue to get it. It's a bad cycle, which is why amino acids are crucial, especially if you're doing any sort of training.

The ten (essential) amino acids your body can't produce are: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. With arginine, it is only essential for the young, not for adults.

I'm seeing muscle gain and hoping it's because of this product. It's not tremendous, but I know BCAAs are the building blocks of protein, so any reassurance I'm obtaining these at my full potential is good to me. Currently take 3 tablets/3 times daily. I'm about to increase my dosage (per the label recommendations) and see if I see more gain.

You get the nutrition you need at a very reasonable price. 3 pills provide plenty of EAA's to use with or between meals and they do not have a terrible taste or smell. I will likely purchase this product again and again.

These were a decent stopgap since I can't seem to find the 500 count of the Universal Uni-Liver tablets on Amazon anymore. I see the 250 count but it is about the same price I bought the 500 count containers some 5 years ago around $13-$15 per 500 count container. These beef aminos you have to swallow whole as they are too hard to chew. They are slimmer and coated to make it easier to swallow than the Uni-Liver tablets. The Uni-Livers have no glossy coating to make swallowing easy and they are much bigger and I developed the tolerance to actually chew these tablets even though they are pretty nasty. I'm guessing chewed tablets are better absorbed than just swallowed whole. I do feel a boost when taking these pills or Uni-Livers in place of a meal. Using these I'd do 3-4 tablets every couple of hours with water.

These are cool to add into your supp regiment. I take four a day. You will not be receiving the dosages on the label but add this to your protein and bcaa+lglutamine regiment and it will definitely not hurt anything. I love beef. Beef loves gym rats. Beef just wants to help you; won't you let it?

Have only taken 2 servings so far and I blew through my workouts and could actually feel it working. Love the product and can tell it is a quality item. I have always wanted to try Universal Nutrition supplements but never did and am mad at myself for not trying sooner. The pump last all day long with just one serving of 3 caps. I wouldn't take more than one serving unless you are a competitive body builder. Yet for somebody like me trying to create a new me 1 serving per day is fine enough.

Just a warning: this pills are pretty big, like bigger than your average multivitamin. Usually I don't have an issue with swallowing pills but these caused me to gag. this is partly my fault for not reading into the product closer and not realizing how big the pills were. I ended up putting these through a food processor until they were a fine powder and mixing them in with my protein shakes, although they didn't all dissolve in the liquid. I would recommend either a smaller pill, or the powder form to begin with
