To anyone considering buying this product for "joint pain", it's important to differentiate between the different types of joint pain and which this product helps.

Specifically, the ingredients in this product help to ease pain associated with inadequate lubrication and padding between the bones within the joints. If your knees and hips are bothering you from strenuous exercise, old age, degenerative disease, or a mixture of all three, then this product will absolutely help you to some degree.

Where I have found this product does not help as much is with inflamed/injured tendons and ligaments (which is also pain in the joints). I bought this product to help out with tendonitis in my elbows and an injured rotator cuff. After using the entire canister over the course of 4 weeks the pain was absolutely no better. So that was my primary reason for trying this product and in that regard, I am disappointed.

That said, I did notice a substantial reduction in knee discomfort while taking this product. There is a hilly, concrete, 2.1 mile loop close to where I live that I like to go jog. At nearly 200lbs, jogging this loop a couple times a week makes my knees sore. This stuff reduced the soreness substantially. I could definitely tell it was working.

So overall a good product, just realize what type of pain it helps before you buy.

I am not a weight lifter (except for this extra person I am carrying around on my middle). I started the flex at the advice of my 6'4" weightlifting grandson. Of course, I read the reviews first. I don't know how I got to the excruciating pain level that I was experiencing this past February, but I could not sit, sleep, walk, or do anything much. I was popping Vicodin every three hours and still had pain. I finally went to the ER (the urgent care docs and my PCP were only giving me more pain meds and had done an xray). The ER doc ordered an MRI of my left hip (the worst pain). Even with an injection of Toradol and Vicodin, I was in so much pain, I could not lie still from shaking in pain. I squeezed the bulb for the tech to stop. She did not. Of course, there were so many artifacts that they diagnosed me with avascular necrosis. Thank the Lord for the Primecare doc who did the xray. It showed some arthritic changes and decreased joint space, but the head of the femur showed no degradation. I was scheduled for a guided steroid injection a month later. I could not bear the pain, so I search the Internet for another hip specialist. I had the injection within a week. The pain (after the initial honeymoon) decreased so that I would walk with a walker, then a cane. I had started the flex about a week or two before. I did not expect it to work overnight. I was able to cut the Vicodin down to every 6 hours, then 4. I was taking Ibuprofen 800mg with it, but only q/8h. My niece told me about Wobenzym N on Facebook. I did the research and read the reviews and ordered 200 of them. I am taking 3 q/12h (on an empty stomach) and the results have been astounding. After two weeks, I have moderate pain only when I lie on my right hip and put my full weight on it for too long at a time, but not all the time.Read more ›

For the past eight or nine years I've been battling psoriatic arthritis. It's been tough as I used to be terrifically fit, exercising every day for 1-2 hours. Then, one day, I woke up and could hardly walk. It took three weeks to be able to walk around the block -- this from someone who used to run five miles a day. On rainy days...forget about it -- I could literally sleep for 16-18 hours a day. Lifting weights has always been one of my favorite and most beneficial activities, from lighter weights/heavy reps (such as the original Firm workouts) to gym/bodybuilding set workouts. After I got hit with the arthritis, lifting was tough, particularly heavy rep. Needless to say I've been on a search for a "cure," for quite awhile. I gave up on the medical profession after various prescriptions ranging from Enbrel to steroids (pulease). Is Universal Nutrition Animal Flex it? Too early to tell but I will tell you this: I've been taking it every morning with my protein shake or green smoothie. Then I exercise. No pain. I've been wearing two knee braces to workout and run and I no longer need them. I've been able to lift heavier and make it through my workouts without the usual 20 minute breaks. Even the rainy days aren't bothering me nearly as much. I've tried a lot of the things that are in this pak individually -- the combination of all of 'em really packs a punch. If you suffer from arthritis, give it a try.

I'm a 37 year old guy in fairly good shape. Usually i stay away from any kind of supplements, but as my body has started to age, supplements needed to be added to my daily regimen. I recently recovered from a wrist injury from boxing. Well the pain is still there whenever i do pushups or have to put weight on my wrists. I started using Flex for a month and the pain isn't there anymore. Before i would have to do pushups on my knuckles to avoid the pain, now i'm able to do normal push-ups again. I would say this product works well. Only negatives are the amount of pills you have to ingest, and the price. But you trade that off for the convenience of having all the supplements packaged up in one pack for you.
