My favorite chapter is chapter 3 Relationships. There is very practical and realistic information in this chapter and she gives insights that I never before considered and am putting to use. (This chapter is helpful for any relationship, not just a romantic one. It will work for anyone you have a relationship with such as a good friend, boss, co-worker etc).
Every chapter in this book I believe is very helpful as it gave me new ways to look at things and meaningful ways to put in to practice the suggestions in this book.
Highly recommend this book!
The central theme is the importance of the connection of the mind, body and spirit but it is the manner in which she takes us through this exploration of ourselves that defies reviewing the book. She graces the pages with words such as these: `Everybody has a path...Every person has something in this life that they are meant to be or do.' In referencing her concept of the Core, she states, `it is only when you dig out the root with honesty, love, effective communication, true understanding of the issue, of yourself and of the others involved, then you will move forward in your path of evolution.'
She speaks of our spiritual baggage - left over unresolved issues from a previous life - and how to deal with that. She discusses honest relationships, loving ourselves, that no one is entitled to anything they do not earn, that `Universal Responsibility is being responsible for all beings on the planet; it is being able to move past one's own views and beliefs to help someone who is in need, regardless of color, creed, sex, one's own family, friends, coworkers, tribe, clan, village, religious views or ethnic background.' When she addresses our process of evolution of self, she states, `accept your part in the Universe, understand what your lessons are, learn from your lessons, grow within yourself, and evolve into a better state of being.'
With Monica Ortiz guidance we learn tools to find and know our core and to learn and grow into something we are capable of being, something that feels like a miracle - until you realize just how soulful and truthful is Monica Ortiz. That `miracle' is health, happiness, and fulfillment! If you care, buy this book. Grady Harp, January 14
