This book gives the control and actual management of money--the money your business earns and spends--back in the owner's hands--your hands. As the book points out, most business people regard accounting in the wrong way--by merely using accounting as a means to see where the money went. What this book emphasizes is having more control of how your money moves within the business organization in such a way that not only there are more earnings and less spending, but also of how you can keep it that way, year on year, as your company grows.
Sandra Simmons knows what she writes about--she knows the program by heart, and the cash flow method she describes in this book has actually helped many a struggling businessman bring their company into the black. Let me emphasize this: `Unleash Your Cashflow Mojo' is not some vague BS-ridden self-help motivational book, but a practical guide written in easy to understand and very helpful language. Regard it as a "walkthru," if you will. And if you're thinking of starting a business--whether it's a lemonade stand or something much more complex--reading this book is highly recommended. You will avoid many of the usual pitfalls encountered by new business owners, thus saving yourself not only from so much trouble, but also from wasting money, time and effort.
There are very few books can be read for a broad adult audience, an audience from many and varied walks of life, but business and financial expert Sandra Simmons has done just that with UNLEASH YOUR CASH FLOW MOJO. I say adult audience, but it may be read by a savvy young adult audience as well... and its principles SHOULD be taught to children; and then hand a copy to them when they're old enough to read and apply the concepts.
Although this is a book written for business owners and business management professionals, author Simmons does an excellent job in laying out financial principles that can be applied by anyone. Commerce, the daily transactions represented by income and expense, is a daily part of everyone's life.
Sandra Simmons knows her topic and conveys it clearly. This isn't a motivational self-help book full of fluff or stuff and nonsense. Ms. Simmons hits the target with deadly accuracy when she identifies the financial foible of merely relying on an accounting ledger or Profit & Loss statement; and she doesn't stop there, as she presents the practical and proactive principles for truly managing cash for success. No more are we to be enslaved by our income as to what we can spend; but rather, applying a financial system that evidences a proven truth: "Managed money works harder, goes further, and accomplishes more than money that is spent without a plan" (pg. 31).
This book is a must-read for business owners, and most strongly recommended for someone planning to start their own business venture. It may just be the best book I've read on this topic. No gimmicks. No hype.Read more ›
